Made in India Delhi-Katra 'Vande Bharat' Express: Union Minister for Home Affairs, Amit Shah flagged off the New Delhi-Katra 'Vande Bharat' Express, in New Delhi.

This is the second ‘Vande Bharat’ express after the New Delhi - Varanasi semi-high speed train flagged off by Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi in February this year.

The coaches of this train are indigenously manufactured at the Chennai Rail coach factory. Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted.

The New Vande Bharat Express from New Delhi to Maa Vaishno Devi, Katra will improve connectivity as well as spiritual tourism.

Popularly known as Train 18, the Vande Bharat Express will begin its commercial run between New Delhi and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra October 5.

Train number 22439 New Delhi-Katra Vande Bharat Express will depart from the New Delhi railway station at 6am to reach Katra at 2pm.

  • It's India's first semi-high speed train.
  • It's fully indigenous & a stellar example of Make in India.
  • Fare for chair car has been fixed at Rs 1,630.
  • The train has wifi & infotainment facilities.
  • It has 16 coaches and can seat 1,128 passengers.
