First Indo-US Joint Trishna HADR Exercise TIGER TRIUMPH to be held in Visakhapatnam on 13 to 21 November

First Indo-US Joint Trishna Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) exercise, named 'Tiger Trimph'is scheduled to be held on the eastern seaboard from 13 to 21 November.

Indian Naval ships Jalashwa, Airavat and Sandhayak, Indian Army troops from 19 Madras and 7 Guards, and Indian Air Force MI-17 helicopters and Rapid Action Medical Team (RAMT) would be participating in the exercise. The US would be represented by US Navy Ship Germantown with troops from US Third Marine Division. The Exercise is aimed to developing interoperability for conducting HADR operations.

 The Harbour Phase is scheduled at Visakhapatnam from 13 to 16 Nov 19.
 The Opening Ceremony along with a Joint Flag Parade and Media Interaction will be held on board INS Jalashwa on 14 Nov 19.

Personnel from both navies would also participate in Training Visits, Subject Matter Expert Exchanges, Sports Events and social interactions. Closing Ceremony: Indo-French Joint Training Exercise Shakti - 2019

Closing Ceremony Exercise Shakti - 2019: The closing ceremony of the joint military exercise between Indian and French Army, Exercise 'SHAKTI-2019’ was held at Mahajan Field Firing Range in Rajasthan on 13 November 2019.

Indo-French Joint Military Exercise Shakti-2019: Indian and French armies will conduct joint counter-terrorism drills under 'Exercise Shakti-2019' in the Mahajan field firing range in Rajasthan from October 31 to November 13.

The aim of the exercise was to achieve interoperability, to acquaint each other with operational procedures, combat drills and understand the functioning in such a situation. It was evident that both armies were able to achieve this aim.

Series of 'Exercise SHAKTI' between India and France commenced in year 2011. Its a biennial exercise and is conducted alternately in India and France. As part of Exercise SHAKTI – 2019, French Army troops arrived in India on 26 October 2019 for training with Indian Troops.

   The bilateral training exercise will be conducted at Foreign Training Node at Mahajan Field Firing Ranges, Rajasthan.

A contingent of the Sikh Regiment of Sapta Shakti Command will represent Indian Army in this exercise. The French Army delegation will be represented by troops of 21st Marine Infantry Regiment of 6th Armoured Brigade.

   The bilateral exercise will be conducted from 31 October 2019 to 13 November 2019.

The joint exercise will focus on Counter Terrorism operations in backdrop of semi-desert terrain under United Nations Mandate. The training will focus primarily on high degree of physical fitness, sharing of drill at tactical level and learning of best practices from each other.......Read More 



SBI cuts GDP growth forecast in second quarter to 4.2%

According to India’s largest public sector bank, India’s second quarter GDP growth may further lower down to 4.2 per cent on low automobile sales, deceleration in air traffic movements, flattening of core sector growth and declining investment in construction and infrastructure, and the growth forecast for FY20 has now come down to 5 per cent from 6.1 per cent earlier.



Facebook Pay launches in the US, new payment system for WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook

Facebook is launching a new payments system, appropriately named Facebook Pay, a service that will help consolidate payments tools across its social media platforms including Whatsapp and Instagram.
