India and Uzbekistan sign Security Cooperation Agreement in New Delhi. A delegation from Uzbekistan, led by Minister of Internal Affairs, Mr. Pulat Bobojonov, met the Indian delegation, led by Union Minister for Home Affairs, Shri Amit Shah, in New Delhi.

 Mr. Bobojonov is on a bilateral visit to India from November 20-23, 2019.

An Agreement on Security Cooperation between the Ministry of Home Affairs of India and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan was also signed by the two Ministers. Minister Jitendra Singh to inaugurate ‘Destination North East’ Festival on 23rd November

The Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) Dr Jitendra Singh will inaugurate the ‘Destination North East’ Festival in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh on 23rd November, 2019.

 The festival is being organised by the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), Government of India.

The DoNER Minister launched the theme song of the festival. This is going to be a four-day event from 23rd to 26th November 2019 at IIT BHU grounds, Varanasi.
The Previous editions of ‘Destination North East’ were held in Delhi and Chandigarh. Destination NE 2019 will provide live experience to the audience. All 8 states will be present at the event along with their handicrafts, handloom, organic products and cultural troupes.......Read More

19th Session of the India-Finland Joint Commission concludes

The 19th Session of the India-Finland Joint Commission was held in New Delhi on 20th – 21st November, 2019. The Technical Session was held on 20th November, 2019 and the Joint Commission Session on 21st November, 2019.

The Joint Commission Session was co-chaired by Ms. Nidhi Mani Tripathi, Joint Secretary, Department of Commerce, Government of India, from Indian side, and by Ms. Piritta Asunmaa, Director General, Department for the Americas and Asia, Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland, from the Finnish side.

The Agenda for the Joint Commission Session was WTO issues, India – EU BTIA, bilateral trade and investment relations, trade barrier issues and measures to promote trade, cooperation in the sectors of power, petroleum and gas, new and renewable energy, environment, cleantech, science, technology and innovation, education and skill development, and labour mobility, digitalization including ICT, transportation, cooperation in the textiles sector, cultural cooperation and tourism cooperation.

This year marks the 70th anniversary of India – Finland diplomatic relations. Both India and Finland cooperate on a wide array of issues and as a member of EU, Finland regards India as a strategic partner for balanced and comprehensive trade relations.




India and Finland sign an MoU for strengthening cooperation in the field of Tourism

India and Finland sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for strengthening cooperation in the field of Tourism.

The MOU was signed by Prahlad Singh Patel, Minister for Culture and Tourism (Independent Charge), Ministry of Tourism, Government of India and Minister for Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment, Government of Finland Mr Timo Harakka.

The signing of Memorandum of Understanding is expected to establish the basis for a cooperative relationship to encourage and promote successful bilateral cooperation in the field of tourism, sharing data, knowledge, expertise, etc.



Conference of Governors and Lt. Governors on November 23-24 at Rashtrapati Bhavan

A two-day Conference of Governors and Lt. Governors on November 23 and 24, 2019 at Rashtrapati Bhavan. This will be the 50th such Conference to be held in Rashtrapati Bhavan and the third Conference to be presided over by President Ram Nath Kovind.

The two-day Conference will discuss important thematic issues in various sessions. It includes tribal issues, reforms in agriculture, Jal Jeevan Mission, new education policy for higher education and governance for ease of living.

Governors and Lt. Governors of all States and Union Territories will attend the Conference. The Vice President; Prime Minister; Union Ministers of Home Affairs; Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare; Law and Justice; Human Resource Development; Tribal Affairs; and Jal Shakti; the Vice Chairman and CEO of NITI Aayog and other senior officials from various Ministries will also participate.
