7th INDIA - US Economic and Financial Partnership meeting held in New Delhi


The Seventh Meeting of the Economic and Financial Partnership (EFP) was held in New Delhi on 1st November, 2019, between the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of India and the Department of the Treasury, United States of America.


The Indian delegation was led by Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman, Minister of Finance, Government of India and the U.S. delegation was led by Mr. Steven Mnuchin, U.S. Secretary of the Treasury.

The Seventh Meeting of the India-U.S. Economic and Financial Partnership is meant to deepen the economic partnership between the two countries as a framework, commensurate with the growing importance of our economic relations and significant business and cultural ties that already exist between the two nations, and to undertake further work in a number of areas to improve cooperation and support for economic development.

The United States and India recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding for cooperation, coordination, consultation and exchange of information relating to the Regulation of the Insurance Sector. 4th Indian Navy and Russian Federation Navy Staff Talks

The 4th Indian Navy (IN) - Russian Federation Navy (RuFN) Staff Talks were held at New Delhi on 30 October 2019. The talks were co-chaired by Rear Admiral Atul Anand, Assistant Chief of Naval Staff (Foreign Cooperation and Intelligence) from the IN and Rear Admiral Vladimir I Zemskov, Deputy Chief of Russian Naval Staff (Signals) from the RuFN.

Sanjeev Nandan Sahai assumes charge as Secretary, Ministry of Power

Sanjeev Nandan Sahai assumed charge as Secretary, Ministry of Power in New Delhi. Prior to this, he was serving as the Special Secretary in the Ministry of Power.

Air Marshal Manavendra Singh Assumes Charge as Director General Inspection and Safety

Air Marshal Manavendra Singh took over as Director General Inspection and Safety. The Air Marshal was commissioned in the flying branch of Indian Air Force on 29 Dec 1982 as a Helicopter pilot.

Air Marshal Amit Dev Assumes Charge as Air Officer in Charge Personnel

Air Marshal Amit Dev, took over as Air Officer In Charge Personnel, Air Headquarters Vayu Bhawan on 01 November 2019.

The Air Marshal graduated from National Defence Academy in December 1981 and was commissioned in the flying branch of Indian Air Force on 29 December 1982 as a fighter pilot. In a distinguished career spanning nearly 37 years, the Air Officer has flown a wide variety of fighter and trainer aircraft in the inventory of IAF.

He has a flying experience of more than 2500 hours, including operational flying on MiG- 21 and MiG-27 fighter aircrafts.

In recognition of his distinguished service, the Air Marshal was awarded ‘Vishisht Seva Medal’ by the president of India in 2010 and ‘Ati Vishisht Seva Medal’ in 2019.




Narendra Singh Tomar meets German Food & Agriculture Minister, Ms. Julia Klockner in New Delhi

Narendra Singh Tomar, Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare met Ms. Julia Klockner, German Minister of Food & Agriculture in New Delhi.

The Ministers signed a Joint Declaration of Intent between India & Germany on cooperation in agriculture market development.

Both the Ministers affirmed that Agriculture is a priority for both Germany and India for fulfillment of ‘Sustainable Development Goal 2- End Hunger and Doubling Agricultural Productivity’, which is especially important since it will also impact the achievement of the other 16 SDGs.

Both Ministers also expressed happiness on signing of MoU between National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management (MANAGE) and the German Agriculture Academy – DEULA-Nienburg, on 30th October, 2019 for technical and professional training of employees in the agricultural sector.



Prahlad Singh Patel meets with German Commissioner for Culture Monika Grutters in New Delhi

Union Minister of State for Culture & Tourism (IC), Prahlad Singh Patel held bilateral meetings with German delegation led by Ms. Monika Grutters, Minister of State to the Federal Chancellor, Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and Media in New Delhi.

During the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding regarding cooperation between the Museums of India and Germany has been signed.

MoU includes cooperation between the National Museum Delhi, the National Gallery of Modern Art Delhi, the Indian Museum Kolkata, the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation Stauffenbergstr, Berlin and the Stiftung Humboldt Forum im Berliner Schloss, Berlin.

The aim of this Memorandum of Understanding is to research archaeological ethnological and art historical objects and their historical and contemporary sources within the framework of material culture studies. This will include intangible cultural heritage, restoration and conservation studies and education work. The basis for cooperation is the collections and expertise of the participating institutions.
