Opening Ceremony: Indo-French Joint Training Exercise Shakti - 2019

The Indo–French joint training EX SHAKTI – 2019 commenced at Mahajan on 31 October 2019 with opening ceremony that saw the unfurling of the National Flags of both countries amidst the playing of the National anthems, “Jana Gana Mana” and the “La Marseillaise”.

Indo-French Joint Military Exercise Shakti-2019: Indian and French armies will conduct joint counter-terrorism drills under 'Exercise Shakti-2019' in the Mahajan field firing range in Rajasthan from October 31 to November 13.

Series of 'Exercise SHAKTI' between India and France commenced in year 2011. Its a biennial exercise and is conducted alternately in India and France. As part of Exercise SHAKTI – 2019, French Army troops arrived in India on 26 October 2019 for training with Indian Troops.

  The bilateral training exercise will be conducted at Foreign Training Node at Mahajan Field Firing Ranges, Rajasthan.

A contingent of the Sikh Regiment of Sapta Shakti Command will represent Indian Army in this exercise. The French Army delegation will be represented by troops of 21st Marine Infantry Regiment of 6th Armoured Brigade.

  The bilateral exercise will be conducted from 31 October 2019 to 13 November 2019.

The joint exercise will focus on Counter Terrorism operations in backdrop of semi-desert terrain under United Nations Mandate. The training will focus primarily on high degree of physical fitness, sharing of drill at tactical level and learning of best practices from each other.......Read More

AIIA Signed MoU with Frankfurter Innovationszentrum Biotechnologie GmbH, Germany

An MOU has been signed between All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) under Ministry of AYUSH and Frankfurter Innovationszentrum Biotechnologie GmbH (FiZ).

One important goal of the collaboration is to research in the field of genomics and develop evidence-based guidelines supported with latest technologies like Artificial Intelligence and machine learning so as to integrate Ayurvedic principles and practises into modern medicine for the wider reach to the masses. Further, exchange of knowledge and experiences will be another component in the MoU.

The MoU signed by Prof. Tanuja Nesari Director AIIA and Dr Christian Garbe, Managing Director of Frankfurter Innovationszentrum Biotechnologie GmbH (FiZ), was agreed at FiZ on the occasion of the event “German/Indian knowledge exchange regarding current developments in the health care sector” by Dr Garbe with Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary, Ministry of AYUSH, during September of this year.



India’s marine exports to China heading for USD 1 billion mark

India’s exports of marine products to China has tripled and touched almost USD 800 million, in the first nine months of 2019, as per the data released by China’s customs authority recently.

India’s marine exports are expected to cross USD 1 billion mark by the end of this year. a Chinese trade delegation visited India on 9th October 2019 and signed a contract for the import of marine products worth USD 500 million in the next two years.



Harsh Vardhan inaugurates National Symposium on the theme 'United to Eliminate Lymphatic Filariasis'

Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Union Minister for Health & Family Welfare as he inaugurated the day long National Symposium on the theme ‘United to Eliminate Lymphatic Filariasis’, in New Delhi.

“Planning, commitment, vision, societal involvement and past experiences can help us achieve our goal of eliminating Lymphatic Filariasis from the country by 2021” said Dr. Harsh Vardhan.



Atanu Chakraborty, Economic Affairs Secretary,gets additional charge of Deptt. of Expenditure

The Competent Authority has approved assignment of additional charge of the post of Secretary, Department of Expenditure to Shri Atanu Chakraborty, IAS (GJ:1985), Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs with immediate effect and till the appointment of a regular incumbent or until further orders, whichever is earlier.



Two-day National Workshops on Pradhan Mantri Van Dhan Yojana begins

A two day “National Workshop on Pradhan Mantri Van Dhan Yojana (PMVDY)” begins in New Delhi. PMVDY is a component of 100 days plan of the Ministry of Tribal Affairs.

The workshop has been organized to take stock of all the activities under the program and to plan the future steps. Participants from 25 States are participating in the workshop along with the TRIFED team.
