Italian Film Despite the Fog to Open 50th International Film Festival of India (IFFI)

The 50th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) is all set to spellbound audiences with the Opening Film of the Festival, which is “Despite the Fog (Nonostante La Nebbia)”, directed by Goran Paskaljevic, one of Europe’s most respected filmmakers.

About 50th International Film Festival of India (IFFI):

International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2019 to be held in Goa: The 50th International Film Festival of India, IFFI 2019, will be held from November 20-28 in Goa.

The 50th year of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI), which is often counted amongst one of the earliest film festivals of the Asian continent. The 50th International Film Festival of India,2019 will witness over 200 best films from 76 countries, 26 feature films and 15 non feature films in Indian panorama section and more than 10,000 people and film lovers are expected to participate in the golden jubilee edition.

National School of Drama’s 11th Bal Sangam to begin from 9th November


The 11th edition of the festival will showcase enthralling folk & traditional performing Arts & folk Theatre from 12 states of India dedicated to children.

The Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given ex-post facto approval for the MoU between India and Bangladesh on withdrawal of 1.82 cusec of water from Feni River by India for drinking water supply scheme for Sabroom town Tripura, India.

As on date, there is no water sharing agreement on Feni river between India and Bangladesh. The present supply of drinking water to Sabroom town is inadequate. The groundwater in this region has a high iron content. Implementation of this scheme would benefit over 7000 population of Sabroom town.......Read More

Cabinet approves Special Window for funding of stalled Affordable and Middle-Income housing projects

The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi approved the establishment of a 'Special Window' fund to provide priority debt financing for the completion of stalled housing projects that are in the Affordable and Middle-Income Housing sector.

For the purposes of the fund, the government shall act as the Sponsor and the total commitment to be infused by the Government would be upto INR 10,000 crore.

  The fund will be set up as a Category-11 AIF (Alternate Investment Fund) debt fund registered with SEBI and would be professionally run.
  For the first AIF under the Special Window, it is proposed that SBICAP Ventures Limited shall be engaged to be the Investment Manager.

This fund would in turn would provide relief to developers that require funding to complete a set of unfinished projects and consequently ensure delivery of homes to the home-buyers.........Read More

Cabinet approves MoU between India and Switzerland on Technical Cooperation in Climate Change and Environment

The Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given ex-post facto approval to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between India and Switzerland on Technical Cooperation in the field of Climate Change and Environment. The MoU was signed in Switzerland on 13th September, 2019.

Environmental degradation falls on the socially and economically disadvantaged, more heavily than the better of sections of the society. Any effort at thwarting environmental degradation would lead to environmental equity in the sense of availability of sound environmental resources to all sections of the society.


The MoU will enable establishment and promotion of closer and long-term cooperation between the two countries in the field of environmental protection and management of natural resources on the basis of equity, reciprocity and mutual benefits, taking into account the applicable laws and legal provisions in each country.[PIB]..........Read More
