  • Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh attends 11th Maitree Diwas Celebrations in Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh.
  • The two-day socio-military cultural extravaganza is jointly organised by the Indian Army, Tawang Civil Administration and volunteers at the High-Altitude Stadium, which stands as a testimony to the spirit of solidarity and patriotic fervour that runs deep amongst the locals of Tawang district.
  • Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh was the chief guest for the event, which was jointly inaugurated by Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh Pema Khandu and General Officer Commanding-in-Chief Eastern Command Lieutenant General Anil Chauhan.

2. Minister Gadkari inaugurates the 39th India International Trade Fair
  • Union Minister of Road Transport & Highways and MSME Nitin Gadkari, inaugurated the 39th India International Trade Fair (IITF) in New Delhi.
  • The theme for this edition of the Fair is “Ease of Doing Business” inspired by the unique achievement of India of rising up to the 63rd rank on the World Bank’s Ease of Doing Business Index from 142nd rank in year 2014.

3. Tobacco Board Receives 2019 Golden Leaf Award
  • Tobacco Board of India has been awarded the Golden Leaf Award in the Most Impressive Public Service Initiative category for the year 2019, for its efforts to initiate various sustainability (green) initiatives in Flue-Cured Virginia (FCV) tobacco cultivation in India. Executive Director of Tobacco Board, K. Sunitha, received the award at Tab Expo 2019 event in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
  • The awards under this category are given to a company or institution that introduced a public service programme or educational campaign of creativity, effectiveness to date and best use of resources.
