1. India to host the 8th International Conference on Agricultural Statistics in New Delhi
  • The 8th International Conference on Agricultural Statistics (ICAS-VIII) will be organized by the Ministry of Agriculture in New Delhi from 18th to 21st November 2019.
  • The conference will be inaugurated by the Union Minister for Agriculture & Farmers Welfare Narendra Singh Tomar and Chief Guest will be Bill Gates.
  • The conference will be organised in collaboration with the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, ISI-CAS, FAO, the USDA, ADB, World Bank, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Eurostat, AfDB and various other organizations.


2. First ever International Buyer- Seller Meet in Arunachal Pradesh
  • The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) under the Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, held the first ever international buyer seller meet on Agriculture & Horticulture produce in Arunachal Pradesh on 14th November 2019.


3. Rajnath Singh inaugurates Sisseri River bridge connecting Dibang Valley and Siang in Arunachal Pradesh
  • Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh inaugurates Sisseri River bridge connecting Dibang Valley and Siang in Arunachal Pradesh.
  • The 200-metre long bridge between Jonai-Pasighat-Ranaghat-Roing road will provide connectivity between Dibang Valley and Siang to meet the long-pending demand of the people of Arunachal Pradesh as it would cut down the travel time from Pasighat to Roing by about five hours.


4. Ministry of Tourism participates in the 3 day China International Travel Mart at Kunming, China
  • The Ministry of Tourism, Government of India in collaboration with Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is participating at the China International Travel Mart (CITM) organised from 15-17 November 2019 at Kunming, China.
  • The India Pavilion at CITM was inaugurated by Ms. Rupinder Brar, Additional Director General, Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India and Mr. Dipak Haksar, Chief Executive, ITC Hotels & Chairman CII National Committee on Tourism & Hospitality along with other members.


5. Amit Shah to Inaugurate the 15 Days’ Aadi Mahotsav 2019 at Dilli Haat, INA
  • Union Home Minister Amit Shah will inaugurate the National Tribal Festival “Aadi Mahotsav” at Dilli Haat, INA.
  • The theme of the 15 days’ Mahotsav (16th to 30th November, 2019) is: “A Celebration of the Spirit of Tribal Culture, Craft, Cuisine and Commerce”. 
  • The festival will feature exhibition-cum-sale of tribal handicrafts, art, paintings, fabric, jewellery and much more through about 210 stalls. Over 1000 tribal artisans and artists from different States creating a Mini-India will participate in the festival.


6. WCD Ministry to announce Bharatiya Poshan Krishi Kosh
  • The Union Minister of Women and Child Development (WCD) and Textiles, Smriti Zubin Irani, will announce Bharatiya Poshan Krishi Kosh (BPKK) on 18th November 2019 in New Delhi. The BPKK will be a repository of diverse crops across 128 agro-climatic zones in India for better nutritional outcomes.
  • Smriti Zubin Irani will deliver the keynote address during the function. Mr. Bill Gates, Co-chair, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation will deliver a special address.


7. Rashtrapati Bhavan to Host Conference of Directors of IITS, NITS and IIEST on November 19
  • Rashtrapati Bhavan will host a conference of the Directors of IITs, NITs and IIEST, Shibpur on November 19, 2019. This Conference is part of regular interactions of the President of India, Ram Nath Kovind, with such institutions in his capacity as visitor to 152 Central Universities and institutions of higher learning.


8. Shripad Naik Inaugurates Two day International Conference on Yoga at Mysuru, Karnataka
  • Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for AYUSH and Defence, Shripad Yesso Naik inaugurated two days International Conference on Yoga at Mysuru, Karnataka.
  • The theme of the conference is ‘Yoga for Heart Care’. More than 700 national and international delegates are expected to participate in the conference spread over ten technical sessions involving fifty resource persons & experts.
