1. ADB, India Sign $91 Million Loan for Comprehensive Water Management in Karnataka
  • The Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Government of India signed a $91 million loan to modernize the Vijayanagara Channel irrigation systems and prepare river basin management plans in the Krishna river basin that will help improve irrigation water use efficiency and contribute to improving sustainable water security in Karnataka.


2. Roar of the Sea: Joint Exercise between the Qatari Emiri Navy and the Indian Navy Forces
  • Indian Navy Guided Missile Stealth Frigate INS Trikand and Patrol Aircraft P8-I arrived at Doha for the inaugural edition of the Bilateral Maritime Exercise Za’ir-Al-Bahr (Roar of the Sea) being conducted from 17 to 21 Nov 19 between the Indian Navy and Qatari Emiri Naval Forces. Za'ir-Al-Bahr 2019 would strengthen cooperation and enhance interoperability between the two navies.


3. Prime Minister Narendra Modi meets Bill Gates
  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a meeting with Mr. Bill Gates, Co-Chair, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, during the latter’s three-day visit to India. The two had last met in September in New York, on the sidelines of the meeting of the United Nations General Assembly.
  • Mr. Bill Gates reinforced his Foundation’s commitment to supporting the Government of India, in its efforts to meet the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), with a particular focus on health, nutrition, sanitation and agriculture.


4. Foreign Minister of Bhutan meets on Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi
  • The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bhutan, T. Dorji, met the Union Minister for Home Affairs, Amit Shah in a cordial atmosphere, in New Delhi.
  • Both the leaders discussed the historically close ties between the two nations and agreed to further strengthen the bilateral relationship in future.


5. Indian Railways launches “Heritage Week” Special Tour Package from Mumbai to Ahmedabad
  • On the occasion of World Heritage Week 2019 being observed from 19th to 25th November 2019, Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Limited, the tourism arm of Indian Railways is launching “Heritage Week” Special Tour Package ex Mumbai starting from 22nd to 25th November 2019.
  • The tour is being operated by IRCTC, West Zone Office, Mumbai. The unique feature of the package is that it will explore the heritage and culture of Gujarat.


6. NITI Aayog releases Report on Building a 21st Century Health System for India
  • NITI Aayog released the report on ‘Health Systems for a New India: Building Blocks—Potential Pathways to Reforms’. The report was released by NITI Aayog Vice Chairman Dr Rajiv Kumar in the presence of Bill Gates.
  • Over the last few years, India has embarked on a journey towards providing improved access to high-quality, affordable healthcare for the most unreached and vulnerable population of the country. Many indicators, however, continue to show significant scope for improvement.

  • The Union Minister for Rural Development, Panchayati Raj and Agriculture Narendra Singh Tomar inaugurated the SARAS IITF Mela 2019 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.
