GeM launches National Outreach Programme - GEM Samvaad
Government e-Marketplace (GeM): A national outreach Programme, GeM Samvaad, was launched by Anup Wadhawan, Secretary, Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India and Chairman, GeM in New Delhi.
The outreach programme will take place with stakeholders across the country and with local sellers in order to facilitate on-boarding of local sellers on the marketplace while catering to specific requirements and procurement needs of buyers.
The outreach programme will take place from 19 Dec 2019 to 17 Feb 2020 and will cover all the States and UTs of the country.

Closing Ceremony: Indo-Nepal joint military Exercise SURYA KIRAN - XIV held in Nepal from 03 to 16 December 2019
Closing Ceremony: Joint military exercise ‘SURYA KIRAN – XIV’ between India and Nepal will be conducted at Salijhandi, Rupendehi district of Nepal from 03 to 16 December 2019.
The exercise will comprise of 300 soldiers from both Indian and Nepal Army who would be sharing their experience in conduct of various counter insurgency and counter terrorism operations as also various humanitarian assistance missions by both the Armies.
Exercise SURYA KIRAN - XIV is an annual event which is conducted alternatively in Nepal and India.
The aim of this exercise is to conduct a Battalion level combined training between Indian Army and Nepal Army to increase interoperability in jungle warfare and counter terrorist operations in mountainous terrain, humanitarian assistance and disaster relief, medical and environmental conservation including aviation aspects.......Read More

Air Marshal RJ Duckworth took over as Senior Air Staff Officer, Western Air Command
Air Marshal RJ Duckworth Vishisht Seva Medal , took over as Senior Air Staff officer , Headquarters Western Air Command on 16 Dec 19.
An alumnus of National Defence Academy , he was commissioned In the fighter stream of IAF on 28th may 1983 . He has over 3000 hours of experience on various fighter and trainer aircraft and is a Qualified Flying Instructor . He is also an alumnus of Defence Services Staff College Wellington and the National Defence College.
Air Marshal D Choudhury is the new Commandant of National Defence College
Air Marshal D Choudhury took charge as Commandant of National Defence College from Vice Admiral Srikant here today. Prior to this appointment Air Marshal Choudhury was senior Air Staff Officer at the Headquarters of Western Air Command, New Delhi.
Air Marshal Choudhury is an alumnus of the National Defence Academy and was commissioned into the fighter stream of the India Air Force on 22nd December 1983. The Air Marshal also an alumnus of the Royal College of Defence studies, UK, Post Graduate in Strategy and International Security from King’s College London and also holds an M.Phil degree in Defence and Strategic Studies.
