India - Japan Foreign and Defence Ministerial Dialogue: The India-Japan Foreign and Defence Ministerial Dialogue (2+2) was held in New Delhi. 

Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh and External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar headed the Indian delegation for 2+2, while the Japanese delegation was led by Foreign Affairs Minister Mr. Toshimitsu Motegi and Minister of Defence Mr. Taro Kono.


The 2+2 meeting provided an opportunity for the two sides to review the status of and exchange further views on strengthening defence and security cooperation between India and Japan so as to provide greater depth to the ‘India-Japan Special Strategic and Global Partnership’......Read More



Indo-Nepal joint military Exercise SURYA KIRAN - XIV held in Nepal from 03 to 16 December 2019


The exercise will comprise of 300 soldiers from both Indian and Nepal Army who would be sharing their experience in conduct of various counter insurgency and counter terrorism operations as also various humanitarian assistance missions by both the Armies.

 Exercise SURYA KIRAN - XIV is an annual event which is conducted alternatively in Nepal and India.

The aim of this exercise is to conduct a Battalion level combined training between Indian Army and Nepal Army to increase interoperability in jungle warfare and counter terrorist operations in mountainous terrain, humanitarian assistance and disaster relief, medical and environmental conservation including aviation aspects.

ADB, India sign USD 451 Million Loan to strengthen Power Connectivity in Tamil Nadu

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Government of India signed a $451 million loan to strengthen power connectivity between the southern and northern parts of the Chennai–Kanyakumari Industrial Corridor (CKIC), which is part of the East Coast Economic Corridor (ECEC), in Tamil Nadu. ADB is the lead partner of the Government of India for developing ECEC.


The MoU Signed by:

The signatories to the loan agreement were Mr. Sameer Kumar Khare, Additional Secretary (Fund Bank and ADB), Department of Economic Affairs in India’s Ministry of Finance, and Mr. Kenichi Yokoyama, Country Director of ADB’s India Resident Mission.

5th NITI Aayog–DRC Dialogue Held in Wuhan


  The Chinese delegation was led by Ma Jiantang, Party Secretary of DRC, and the Indian by Dr Rajiv Kumar, Vice Chairman of NITI Aayog.

Based on the agreement at the Fourth Dialogue in Mumbai 2018, DRC and NITI Aayog had undertaken joint research in the areas of WTO reform and urbanization, whose preliminary findings were presented at the Fifth Dialogue as a key deliverable.

Vice Admiral SR Sarma takes over as Controller Warship Production & Acquisition

Vice Admiral SR Sarma takes over as Controller Warship Production and Acquisition from Vice Admiral Ajay Kumar Saxena.

Commissioned in the Indian Navy on 31 Mar 1983, Vice Admiral SR Sarma an electrical engineer, had served as an electrical officer of guided missile destroyer INS Mysore. As a Flag Officer, he has held appointments as Assistant Chief of Materiel (Information Technology & Systems) at Naval headquarters, Admiral Superintendent Dockyard at Visakhapatnam, Chief Staff Officer (Tech) at Eastern Naval Command, Director General Naval Projects at Visakhapatnam and Principal Director Advanced Technology Vessel Project at Delhi.

Vice Admiral AK Saxena who retires today after putting in a distinguished service of more than 38 years and had a tenure of 13 months as CWP&A from 01 Nov 18.
