ADB, India sign USD 451 Million Loan to strengthen Power Connectivity in Tamil Nadu

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Government of India signed a $451 million loan to strengthen power connectivity between the southern and northern parts of the Chennai–Kanyakumari Industrial Corridor (CKIC), which is part of the East Coast Economic Corridor (ECEC), in Tamil Nadu. ADB is the lead partner of the Government of India for developing ECEC.

The signatories to the loan agreement were Mr. Sameer Kumar Khare, Additional Secretary (Fund Bank and ADB), Department of Economic Affairs in India’s Ministry of Finance, and Mr. Kenichi Yokoyama, Country Director of ADB’s India Resident Mission.

5th NITI Aayog–DRC Dialogue Held in Wuhan


 The Chinese delegation was led by Ma Jiantang, Party Secretary of DRC, and the Indian by Dr Rajiv Kumar, Vice Chairman of NITI Aayog.

Based on the agreement at the Fourth Dialogue in Mumbai 2018, DRC and NITI Aayog had undertaken joint research in the areas of WTO reform and urbanization, whose preliminary findings were presented at the Fifth Dialogue as a key deliverable.

Jitendra Singh to inaugurate two-day Conference on Jal Shakti and Disaster Management

The Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) in collaboration with Governments of Tamil Nadu and the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir is organizing a two-day Conference on ‘Ek Bharat Shreshta Bharat’ with focus on Jal Shakti and Disaster Management on November 30-December 1, 2019 at Jammu.

The two-day event will be inaugurated by Dr. Jitendra Singh, Minister of State (Independent charge) of the Ministry of DONER, with G.C. Murmu, Lieutenant Governor of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir, R.B. Udhayakumar, Minister for Revenue & Disaster Management, Government of Tamil Nadu and R.K. Mathur Lieutenant Governor of the Union Territory of Ladakh. U.P. Singh, Secretary, Water Resources and Shri B.V.R. Subrahmanyam, Chief Secretary, J&K will also address the Inaugural Session.

The Conference will be attended by 350 delegates from State Government – District Collectors/ District SP’s/ SDRF/ Additional District Collectors/ Civil Society/ Engineering Departments/ Food & Civil Supplies Department/ Communication/ Flood affected Families.



Project of Rs 25.58 crores approved for Development of Loktak Inland Waterways Project in Manipur

The Ministry of Shipping gave approval for the development of Loktak Inland Waterways improvement project in Manipur under the central sector scheme. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 25.58 crores. The Loktak Lake is the largest freshwater lake in North east located at Moirang in Manipur.
