JMM leader Hemant Soren takes oath as 11th chief minister of Jharkhand

Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) leader Hemant Soren was sworn in as the 11th Chief Minister of Jharkhand. Governor Draupadi Murmu administered him the oath of office and secrecy at the swearing-in ceremony held in Ranchi.

Indian delegation was led by Indra Mani Pandey, Additional Secretary (Disarmament and International Security Affairs), Ministry of External Affairs, while Japanese delegation was led by Ambassador Yamanaka A Osamu, Deputy Assistant Minister, Deputy Director-General in Foreign Policy Bureau.

The two sides exchanged views on various topics of mutual interest in maritime domain and identified the means for further strengthening their maritime cooperation.

Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh launches DefExpo 2020 mobile app

Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh launched the mobile app of the forthcoming DefExpo 2020. The app is available on Apple App Store and Android Play Store.

The main features of the app are ‘inform, engage and feedback’. It provides detailed information about the day-to-day events; participating exhibitors; Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSUs), guest speakers of seminars/webinars; publications i.e., electronic brochures and e-books; maps and directions of the venuesand city weather.

The mobile app aims to engage with the visitors as well as exhibitors. Business-to-Business Exhibitor Connect; Exhibitor Chat; Ticket booking; accommodation in Tented City; Push notifications and social media are some of its salient features.



Minister Harsh Vardhan inaugurates 2nd Edition of “Eat Right Mela” in New Delhi 

Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Union Minister of Health & Family Welfare while inaugurating the second edition of the ‘Eat Right Mela’ at Jawahar Lal Nehru Stadium, in New Delhi. He stressed upon the importance of having a Jan Andolan, a peoples’ movement, encouraging people to have healthier diets which will help in reduction of the disease burden in the country.

Dr. Harsh Vardhan stated that the Eat Right Mela of FSSAI is a commendable effort and outreach activity for citizens to nudge them towards eating right.
