1. Ram Vilas Paswan inaugurates workshop for State Governments on ‘Standard for Drinking Water’
- The Union Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Ram Vilas Paswan inaugurated the One Day Workshop organized by the Bureau of Indian Standard with the aim to disseminate information about requirements of Indian Standard with specification for Drinking Water (IS 10500:2012) and other Indian Standards so as to ensure that quality drinking water is provided to all households across the nation.
2. President Ram Nath Kovind presents Lakshmipat Singhania – IIM Lucknow National Leadership Awards 2018
- The President of India, Ram Nath Kovind, presented the Lakshmipat Singhania – IIM Lucknow National Leadership Awards 2018 in New Delhi.
3. Government amended IEPFA Rules, 2016, to simplify refund of claims
- The Investor Education & Protection Fund (Accounting, Audit, Transfer and Refund) Rules 2016 have been amended vide GSR No.571 (E) dated 14.8.2019 to simplify the process of refund of claims filed with The Investor Education & Protection Fund Authority (the Authority).
4. J&K Lt Governor Girish Chandra Murmu inaugurates 72-metre all weather bridge in Rajouri
- Jammu and Kashmir Lt Governor Girish Chandra Murmu dedicated the 72-metre-long Multi Cell Box Type Load Class 70 bridge to the Nation in Rajouri.
- The bridge spans over Draj nallah and connected Draj Area to Tehsil Kotranka area under District Rajouri.
- Lt Governor praised Border Roads Organisation (BRO) for their dedication and nation building through infrastructure development and war preparedness through construction of roads, bridges and tunnels.
5. 3rd India-Australia Secretary-level 2+2 Dialogue was held in New Delhi
- The third India-Australia Secretary-level 2+2 Dialogue was held in New Delhi. The Indian delegation was led by Defence Secretary Dr Ajay Kumar and Foreign Secretary Vijay Gokhale, while the Australian side was led by Defence Secretary Mr Greg Moriarty and Foreign Secretary Ms Frances Adamson.
6. Bangladesh Navy Chief Aurangzeb Chaudhary on official visit to India
- Admiral Aurangzeb Chowdhury, Chief of Naval Staff Bangladesh Navy is on an official visit to India from 07 – 12 Dec 19.
- The visit aims to consolidate bilateral relations between India and Bangladesh, as also to explore new avenues for naval cooperation.
7. Lok Sabha passes the Arms (Amendment) Bill, 2019
- Lok Sabha today passed the Arms (Amendment) Bill, 2019. The Bill seeks to enhance the punishment for existing offences like illegal manufacture, sale, transfer, etc.; illegal acquiring, possessing or carrying prohibited arms or prohibited ammunition; and illegal manufacture, sale, transfer, conversion, import, export, etc.
- It also proposes to define new offences and prescribing punishment for them, such as for taking away firearms from police or armed forces, involvement in organized crime syndicate, illicit trafficking including smuggled firearms of foreign make or prohibited arms and prohibited ammunition, use of firearms in rash and negligent manner in celebratory gunfire endangering human life, etc.
8. MOU signed Between NSIC & ARAMCO Asia for development in Oil & Gas Sectors
- An MoU has been signed recently between NSIC and Aramco Asia for the development of MSME Ecosystem in India in Oil & Gas Sector. This MoU will pave a way for accredited Indian MSMEs to carve out a space as vendors in the Global space.
9. Jitendra Singh inaugurates ‘Digital Exhibition on history of Constitution of India’
- The Minister of State for Development of North Eastern Region (I/C), Prime Minister’s Office, Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr. Jitendra Singh inaugurated the ‘Digital Exhibition on History of Constitution of India’.
- The exhibition has been organised by the Department of Personnel & Training, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, in collaboration with Parliament Museum and Archives of Lok Sabha Secretariat and Bureau of Outreach and Communication for two days i.e. 9-10 December, 2019 at Gate No.8, North Block, New Delhi.
