1. ADB, India Sign USD 490 Million Loan for PPP to Upgrade Madhya Pradesh Roads

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Government of India today signed a $ 490 million loan for public-private partnership (PPP) project to upgrade about 1,600 km of state highways and major district roads (MDRs) from single-lane to two-lane widths in the state of Madhya Pradesh.
An additional $ 286 million investment will be mobilised through private sector participation under the PPP modality.

2. DRDO Successfully Flight-Tests Two Pinaka Missiles in Salvo Mode

As part of the series of flight trials of Pinaka missile system, two test firings have been conducted by Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO).
The first trial was conducted on December 19, 2019, wherein one missile was fired at 75 kilometre range.
The second trial was successfully conducted today Morning at 11:00 hrs (20th December) from Integrated Test Range, Chandipur, off the Odisha coast.

3. Closing Ceremony: 8th edition of India China joint training exercise ‘Hand-in-Hand-2019’ held in Meghalaya

The eighth edition of India-China joint training exercise Hand-in-Hand 2019 culminated on 20 December 2019 at Joint Training Node, Umroi, Meghalaya.
The exercise was aimed at practicing the joint drills of counter terrorism operations in a semi urban terrain under United Nation mandate. The exercise entailed firing of each other's weapons, conduct of tactical lectures & demonstration by both countries with respect to various aspects of counter terrorism operations.

4. Afghanistan first country to recognize Indian Pharmacopoeia

The Indian Pharmacopoeia (IP) has been recognised formally by the National Department of Regulation of Medicines and Health Products of the Ministry of Public Health of Afghanistan.
It will also be used based on the requirement as reputable pharmacopoeia in the laboratory of medicines and health products quality. With this, a new beginning has been made and Afghanistan has become the first country to recognize IP pursuant to the efforts of the Department of Commerce and Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

5. Prime Minister Modi Addresses the Inaugural session of 100 Years of ASSOCHAM

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the goal of achieving the 5 Trillion Dollar Economy is achievable.
He was participating at the inaugural session of the Hundred Years of ASSOCHAM in New Delhi.
