1. PM Modi Lays foundation stone of Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University
  • On the Birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled a plaque to mark the laying of the foundation stone of Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University in Lucknow. Governor of Uttar Pradesh Smt Anandiben Patel, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Deputy Chief Ministers, and other dignitaries were also present on the occasion.


2. Prime Minister Narendra Modi Launches Atal Bhujal Yojana (ATAL JAL)
  • On the Good Governance Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched Atal Bhujal Yojana (ATAL JAL) and named the Strategic Tunnel under Rohtang Pass after Vajpayee, in an event held in New Delhi.
  • ATAL JAL has been designed with the principal objective of strengthening the institutional framework for participatory groundwater management and bringing about behavioral changes at the community level for sustainable groundwater resource management in seven States, viz. Gujarat, Haryana, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.


3. NITI Aayog to Launch SDG India Index & Dashboard 2019–20
  • NITI Aayog will launch the second edition of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) India Index, which documents the progress made by India’s States and Union Territories towards implementing the 2030 SDG targets, on 30 December 2019 at NITI Aayog, New Delhi.
  • The SDG India Index and Dashboard 2019–20 have been developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI), the United Nations in India, and the Global Green Growth Institute.


4. Prime Minister Narendra Modi releases Operational Guidelines for the implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM)
  • The Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the Operational Guidelines of JJM in a function organised at Vigyan Bhawan, which is observed as Good Governance in New Delhi. The Operational Guidelines will help various functionaries involved in the implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission.
  • The event was also graced by the Minister of Defense, the Minister Jal Shakti, the Minister of State Jal Shakti. Officials from various departments, farmers from different states, representatives of UN agencies, NGOs/ trusts, and various stakeholders working in the water sector attended the function.
  • The Union Cabinet on 13.08.2019 approved Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) to provide Functional Household Tap Connection (FHTC) to every rural household by 2024.


5. Dharmendra Pradhan unveils India's First CNG Bus which can run 1000 Kms in one fill
  • Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas and Steel, today unveiled India's first long distance CNG bus fitted with composite CNG cylinders, which can travel around 1000 kms in a single fill. 
  • The project has been executed by Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) and has been achieved through pioneering design of Type IV Composite Cylinders in buses, replacing traditional very heavy Type-I Carbon Steel cylinders.


6. HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ inaugurates 65th National School Games of SGFI in New Delhi
  • Union HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ inaugurated Lawn Tennis Event (Under 19, Boys & Girls) of 65th National School Games organised by School Games Federation of India (SGFI) at R.K. Khanna Stadium in New Delhi.
  • A total number of 232 qualified Tennis Players have gathered in Delhi selected from 23 states for the National Level competition here. These players will compete in different categories for the next four days till 28th December.
