1. Lt Gen P S Rajeshwar takes over as C-n-C of Andaman & Nicobar Command
  • Lt Gen Podali Shankar Rajeshwar took over as the 14th Commander-in-Chief of the Andaman & Nicobar Command (CINCAN).
  • He is a graduate of Indian Military Academy and was commissioned into the Regiment of Artillery in December 1980. A gunner and aviator, he is an alumnus of the Defence Services Staff College, Army War College and National Defence College in New Delhi and Philippines.


2. India, Gambia to work out MoU on Refurbishing Personnel Administration of Gambia
  • India and Gambia have agreed to work out a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on refurbishing personnel administration of Gambia. The Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances (DARPG) and National Centre for Good Governance (NCGG) will extend technical assistance and develop a collaboration through an MoU on Refurbishing Personnel Administration of Gambia.
  • This was conveyed by the Union Minister of State for Development of North Eastern Region (I/C) Dr. Jitendra Singh during talks with a delegation from the Gambia Public Service Commission.


3. India becomes the 1st country to make Haj 2020 process completely digital
  • India has become the first country in the world which has made the entire Haj 2020 process 100 per cent digital, announced by the Minority Affairs Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi. 
  • Minority Affairs Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi signed the bilateral agreement for next year's pilgrimage with the Saudi Haj Minister in Jeddah.


4. Govt extended mandatory FASTag rollout deadline to December 15, 2019
  • The government announced extending the date to December 15 for making FASTag mandatory for toll payments on national highways.
  • Previously the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways(MoRT&H) announced December 1, 2019 as the deadline for enrolment, toll payments on highways would be accepted through FASTags only.


5. Konark Festival & International Sand Art Festival 2019 begins in Odisha From 1st – 5th Dec
  • The 5-day long 30th edition of Konark festival & International Sand Art Festival 2019 inaugurated by the Odisha Governor Ganeshi Lal.
