2. India-2021 Census to begin on 1st April: Government
  • Central Government announced India-2021 Census will begin on 1st of April this year and will end on 30th of September. Census India-2021 will be conducted through a mobile phone application, moving away from the traditional pen and paper.

  • The Nature India essay competition is open for readers aged 25 to 50. The essayists will have an opportunity to draft a compelling narrative with personal anecdotes, emotion and a science-backed story that may become potentially historic in helping shape the roadmap for India’s scientific future.

  • Pravasi Bharatiya Divas was started in 2003 by former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee to connect with migrants settled around the world. Mahatma Gandhi returned home from South Africa on January 9, so Pravasi Bharatiya Divas is celebrated on January 9.
