1. 50th World Economic Forum (WEF) 2020 at Davos, Switzerland from January 20th to 24th
  • The 50th World Economic Forum (WEF) 2020 at Davos Klosters, Switzerland from January 20th to 24th. This year the World Economic Forum (WEF) marks the 50th anniversary of the event.
  • The theme of the 2020 meeting is Stakeholders for a Cohesive and Sustainable World.


2. Minister Piyush Goyal to lead Indian Delegation to World Economic Forum 2020
  • Union Minister of Commerce and Industry & Railways, Piyush Goyal, will lead the Indian delegation to the 50th World Economic Forum (WEF) at Davos from January 20th to 24th 2020.
  • The Commerce and Industry Minister will participate in the WEF along with Union Minister of State for Shipping and Chemical and Fertilizers, Mansukh L. Mandaviya and Chief Ministers of the States of Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh, Finance Minister of Punjab and the IT Minister of Telangana.


3. Central Government’s Special Outreach programme begins from Jammu
  • As a part of Central Government’s special public outreach programme to disseminate information about the implementation of its policies and programmes for the overall development of Jammu and Kashmir and its people, Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh said that the Central Govt. schemes should reach its actual beneficiaries who have been deprived of it in the past.
  • Minister Dr. Singh also announced to establish three media centers at Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh for the benefit of the media persons where all facilities will be provided to them on the lines of National Media Center.


4. 3rd North Zone Conference of Media Units being held in Jammu
  • The Regional Outreach Bureau, Jammu and Kashmir region has organised a two day Zonal Conference of Media units of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India at Jammu.
  • The Conference aims to strengthen synergy between the Media Units in order to ensure last mile delivery, while simultaneously brainstorm the use of new technology in communication.


5. NITI Aayog and Union Territory of Ladakh sign MoU for Development of Infrastructure Projects
  • NITI Aayog and Union Territory of Ladakh signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to promote the development of key infrastructure sectors.
  • Under this MoU, NITI Aayog will be supporting the UT’s administration through its key initiative ‘Development Support Services to States for Infrastructure Projects (D3S-i)’.


6. Minister Prakash Javadekar Inaugurates ELECRAMA 2020 at India Expo Mart in Greater Noida
  • Union Minister of Heavy Industries & Public Enterprises, Environment, Forest and Climate Change and Information & Broadcasting, Prakash Javadekar inaugurated ELECRAMA 2020, at India Expo Mart in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh.
  • ELECRAMA is the flagship showcase of the Indian electrical industry and a platform to connect the world with Indian industry in respect of technology, new trends and innovation for future energy transition.
