1. India’s first global Mega Science Exhibition “Vigyan Samagam” held in New Delhi
  • India's first global mega science exhibition "Vigyan Samagam" held at the National Science Center, New Delhi.
  • India’s first global Mega Science Exhibition "Vigyan Samagam" inaugurates by Union Minister of State (I/C) Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region Dr Jitendra Singh.
  • The exhibitions should be organised with focus on educating the young students, so that they can choose science as a career in the future, minister Jitendra Singh said.


2. Indian Navy Signs MoU for offshore Data with Geological Survey of India
  • Indian Navy has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Geological Survey of India (GSI) for ‘Sharing of seabed sediments data, products and expertise for Naval Application in Meteorology and Oceanography’.
  • The MoU was signed today between Commodore AA Abhyankar, who heads Indian Navy’s Oceanology and Meteorology Directorate and N Maran, Deputy Director General of GSI.


3. Prime Minister Narendra Modi to chair PRAGATI meeting today
  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi, will chair the 32nd interaction through PRAGATI- the ICT-based, multi-modal platform for Pro-Active Governance and Timely Implementation, on 22nd January 2020.
  • In the previous thirty one interactions of PRAGATI, projects worth over twelve lakh crores have been reviewed by the Prime Minister. In the last PRAGATI meeting of the year 2019, 9 projects worth over Rs. 61,000 crore related to 16 states and the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir were taken up for discussion.


4. Mansukh Mandaviya participates in the Round-table of UNAIDS on the theme “Access for all: Leveraging Innovations, Investments and Partnerships for Health”
  • The Union Minister of State for Shipping (I/C) and Chemical & Fertilizers Mansukh Mandaviya participated in the High-level roundtable of UNAIDS (The Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS) on the theme Access for all: Leveraging Innovations, Investments and Partnerships for Health at World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.


5. 3rd edition of Khelo India Youth Games to conclude in Guwahati today
  • The third Khelo India Youth Games will conclude this evening with gala closing ceremony at Sarusajai Stadium in Guwahati.
  • In medal tally, Maharashtra continues on top with 234 medals including 74 gold medals. Haryana is on second spot with 57 golds while Delhi is on third spot with 35 gold medals.


6. Apurvi Chandela, Divyansh Panwar win gold medals in 10 m air rifle events at Meyton Cup in Austria
  • Ace Indian shooters Apurvi Chandela and Divyansh Singh Panwar clinched gold at the ongoing Meyton Cup international shooting championship in Austria.
  • Apurvi won the gold in women's 10m air rifle with a final score of 251.4.
  • In the men’s 10m air rifle, World No. 2 Divyansh Singh Panwar shot 249.7 to claim the gold.
