RBI has announced Sixth Bi-Monthly Monetary Policy Statement 2019-20: Point-to-Point Details

Reserve Bank of India (RBI) did not change interest rates in Sixth Monetary Policy,  Repo Rate, Reverse Repo Rate, Bank Rate, RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das has announced the Sixth Bi-monthly Monetary Policy Statement for the year 2019-20.


On the basis of an assessment of the current and evolving macroeconomic situation at its meeting, the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) decided to:-

The policy repo rate under the liquidity adjustment facility (LAF) unchanged at 5.15 per cent.

Consequently, the reverse repo rate under the LAF remains unchanged at 4.90 per cent, and the marginal standing facility (MSF) rate and the Bank Rate at 5.40 per cent.

Cabinet approves amendment to bring cooperative banks under the regulatory control of RBI

The Union Cabinet, chaired by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has given its approved amendments to the Banking Regulation Act to bring cooperative banks under the regulatory mechanism of Reserve Bank of India.

 The government has taken this move in the wake of the Punjab and Maharashtra Co-operative (PMC) Bank crisis.
