1. 181ST Meeting of ESI Corporation Held in New Delhi

The 181ST Meeting of Employees' State Insurance (ESI) held in New Delhi, under the Chairmanship of Santosh Kumar Gangwar, Minister of State for Labour & Employment (Independent Charge) has taken some important decisions towards improvements in its functioning and service delivery mechanism.

2. Indian Railways to launch third corporate passenger train Kashi Mahakal Express on Varanasi-Indore Route

After the successful run of the Tejas Express trains operating on the Lucknow-Delhi and Ahmedabad-Mumbai routes, Indian Railways is going to start operation of the third corporate passenger train - Kashi Mahakal Express connecting religious places of the state of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.
Kashi Mahakal Express will be inaugurated on 16th February, 2020 followed by routine commercial run from 20th February 2020 onwards. The inaugural run of the train will be flagged off from Varanasi by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi through video link.

3. Prime Minister Narendra Modi to visit Varanasi on the 16th February 2020

Prime Minister Narendra Modi would be visiting Varanasi, his Parliamentary Constituency on a day’s visit on the 16th of February 2020.
The Prime Minister is scheduled to participate in the Closing Ceremony of the Centenary Celebrations of Shri Jagadguru Vishwaradhya Gurukul. PM Modi shall also be releasing the translated version of the Shri Siddhant Shikhamani Granth in 19 languages.

4. “Know Your Forces” : An Event Organised by Air Force Station Sarsawa

Air Force Station Sarsawa organised a mega display of military assets for the school students of Saharanpur area on 14 February 2020. The students also witnessed various tactics of the helicopter flying by Air Force pilots.
The event was inaugurated by the Divisional Commissioner Sanjay Kumar IAS and Air Commodore Ajay Shukla VM, Air Officer Commanding, Air Force Station Sarsawa.
The aim of the programme was to reach out to the youths of Saharanpur area and familiarize them with the Indian Armed Forces in general and Indian Air Force in particular.

5. India and Portugal sign Cooperation Agreement in the field of Maritime Transport and Ports

A cooperation agreement in the field of maritime transport and ports was signed between India and Portugal.
It will open avenues for cooperation to promote Maritime Transport between the two countries for better operation of their merchant fleets, cooperation to harmonize and unified their position with International Organization Institution, forums and conferences related to Maritime and Port activities.

6. Steel Ministry to Organise a Workshop on Fostering Steel Usage in Railways and Defence Sector

Ministry of Steel in association with Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is organizing a workshop on February 17, 2020 at New Delhi focusing on fostering steel usage in Railways and Defence sectors.
The aim of the workshop is to have an in-depth discussion with the Railways and Defence sector to identify gaps and opportunities available in the supply of Steel and Steel Products.

7. India Portugal sign MoU to develop Maritime Heritage Complex at Lothal

India Portugal signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop a world class National Maritime Heritage Complex at Lothal, Gujarat.
The President of Portugal H.E. Mr Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, is currently on a four-day State visit to India.
