1. 16th Session of the Joint Ministerial Commission between India and Australia
  • The 16th Session of the Joint Ministerial Commission (JMC) between India and Australia was convened in New Delhi on 24th February 2020.
  • The Session was co-chaired by Piyush Goyal, Minister of Railways and Commerce & Industry, Government of India and Senator Simon Birmingham, Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment, Government of Australia.


2. Minister Arjun Munda Inaugurates“all India Tribal Workers Meet
  • Arjun Munda, Union Minister of Tribal Affairs inaugurated the All India Tribal Workers Meet organised by Bharatiya Adim Jati Sevak Sangh (BAJSS) in New Delhi.
About Bharatiya Adim Jati Seval Sangh:
  • Bharatiya Adim Jati Seval Sangh is a National Level Voluntary Organisation constituted on 24th October, 1948 by Pujya Thakkar Bapa, well known dedicated social worker of the Servants of India Society.


3. Union Minister Kiren Rijiju inaugurates 1st Khelo India Winter Games in Leh, Ladakh
  • The Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports (I/c), Kiren Rijiju has inaugurated the first-ever Khelo India Winter Games in the Union Territory of Ladakh at Leh, Ladakh, Jammu and Kashmir.
  • The event, which is first of its kind in India, is being organised to promote winters ports in India and to popularise these games among the youth of the country. From March 7, J & K Winter games will be conducted in Gulmarg.


4. Best ever safety record of Indian Railways in the current financial year 2019-20
  • Indian Railways has registered the best ever safety record in the current financial year 2019-20. In the year so far (from 01.04.2019 to 24.02.2020) there has been no fatality of any railway passenger in any consequential railway accident.
  • The remarkable feat has been achieved for the first time in the year 2019-20 since introduction of Railway System in India 166 years ago in the year 1853.


5. Minister Sanjay Dhotre inaugurates the exhibition on clean air technologies at IIT Delhi
  • Union Minister of State for Human Resource Development (HRD) Sanjay Dhotre inaugurated the exhibition organised by Centre of Excellence for Research on Clean Air technologies at the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi.
  • The exhibition showcases clean air technologies developed by IIT Bombay, IIT Ropar, IIT (ISM) Dhanbadand IIT Delhi.


6. Closing Ceremony: 5th edition of India United Kingdom (UK) joint military Exercise AJEYA WARRIOR - 2020
  • Exercise AJEYA WARRIOR - 2020, a joint military training exercise between India & United Kingdom (UK) culminated at West down Camp, Salisbury Plains Training Area, UK.
  • The closing ceremony was attended by Brigadier Tom Bewick, Commander of UK 7 Infantry Brigade and Brigadier Gavin, Defence Attache of UK in India.
  • The fifth edition of the exercise included joint training in urban and semi urban areas.


7. Home Minister Amit Shah chairs a meeting with Political Parties and Senior Officials on the issue of recent violence in Delhi
  • Union Minister of Home Affairs Amit Shah chaired a meeting on the prevailing situation in Delhi. The Lieutenant Governor of Delhi Anil Baijal and the Chief Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal were also present, along with senior officials and representatives of political parties.
  • Home Minister Shah appreciated the participation of all parties and urged them to exercise restraint, rise above party lines to tackle the situation.
