1. Reserve Bank set to conduct Financial Literacy Week (FLW) 2020 from February 10–14
  • India’s central bank, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is going to conduct the Financial Literacy Week (FLW) 2020 to propagate financial education messages on a particular theme across the country from February 10 - February 14, 2020.
  • The theme selected for current year FLW is “Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).


2. 23rd edition of National Conference on e-Governance concludes in Mumbai
  • The National Conference on e-Governance 2020 came to a close after two days of rich deliberations on issues, opportunities and challenges in transforming governance using digital technologies, in Mumbai.
  • The Mumbai Declaration on e-Governance has been unanimously adopted on a concluding day.


3. Sri Lanka PM Rajapaksa meets India’s External Affairs Minister in New Delhi
  • Minister of External Affairs Subrahmanyam Jaishankar called on SriLankan Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa in New Delhi.
  • Prime Minister of Sri Lanka Mahinda Rajapaksa has arrived in New Delhi. He is on a State visit to India from 8 – 11 Feb, 2020 at the invitation of our Prime Minister Narendra Modi.


4. Hyderabad Metro Rail becomes Country’s 2nd largest operational Metro Project
  • Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao flagged off of the metro train on Green Line stretch from Jubilee Bus Station (JBS) to Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station (MGBS), connecting the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad and the stretch covering of 11-kms (Kilometers), Hyderabad Metro Rail has become the second largest metro rail network in the country after Delhi.


5. Uttarakhand’s First Heli Services under UDAN flagged off
  • Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) today operationalized the first ever helicopter services from Dehradun’s Sahastradhara helipad to Gauchar, and Chinyalisaur under the Regional Connectivity Scheme – Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik (RCS-UDAN) of Government of India.
  • Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Shri Trivendra Singh Rawat and Secretary in the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Shri Pradeep Singh Kharola flagged off this service.


6. Indian Army Major Anoop Mishra develops world’s 1st bulletproof helmet that can stop AK-47 firing
  • Indian Army Major Anoop Mishra has developed the world's first bulletproof helmet which withstands even an AK-47 bullet round from a distance of 10 meters.
  • Anoop Mishra is a part of the Indian Army's College of Military Engineering (Pune, Maharashtra), and had got into the development of bulletproof jackets after he had received gunshots on his vintage bulletproof jacket.


7. DefExpo witnesses signing of Over 200 MoUs, ToTs and product launches
  • Over 200 partnerships involving Signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs), Transfer of Technology (ToTs) , Product launches were concluded on the third day of DefExpo 2020, at ceremony tilted “Bandhan”, making it the most successful such event to be held in India.


8. Haryana government launches Rs 1500 crore Mukhyamantri Parivartan Yojna
  • Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar launched the Mukhyamantri Parivar Samridhi Yojana scheme on the mark of successful 100 days of the present state government. 
  • Under the scheme, an annual assistance of Rs 6,000, in three equal installment of Rs 2000 each, will be provided to families having an annual income below Rs 1.80 lakh and land holdings up to five acres.
