1. A Week Long “Ekam Fest” to Begin Today to Promote Craftsmanship & Products of Divyang Artisans And Entrepreneurs
  • Union Minister of Social Justice & Empowerment Thaawarchand Gehlot will inaugurate the week long Exhibition-cum-Fair “EKAM Fest” organised by National Handicapped Finance Development Corporation (NHFDC) under M/o Social Justice & Empowerment tomorrow evening at State Emporia Complex, Baba Kharak Singh Marg, New Delhi.
  • EKAM Fest is an effort for promoting entrepreneurship and knowledge among Divyangjan community, generating awareness among society about potentialities of PwDs & providing a major marketing opportunity to PwDs entrepreneurs.


2. Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi inaugurates “Hunar Haat”, at Harmu Ground, Ranchi Jharkhand
  • Union Minister for Tribal Affairs Arjun Munda and Naqvi were inaugurating “Hunar Haat” at Harmu Ground, Harmu Chowk in Ranchi (Jharkhand). This “Hunar Haat” is being organised by Union Minority Affairs Ministry from 29th February to 08th March, 2020.
  • This is for the first time that “Hunar Haat” is being organised in Jharkhand. This is the 21st “Hunar Haat” of the Union Minority Affairs Ministry.
  • “Hunar Haat” is an effective mission which has been ensuring that the common people become a part of mainstream economic development.


3. Tourism Minister Prahlad Singh Patel to launch multilingual Incredible India website in New Delhi
  • The Minister of State (IC) for Tourism & Culture Prahlad Singh Patel will launch the multilingual Incredible India website in New Delhi. The launch event will witness participation by key stakeholders of tourism industry, foreign ambassadors, foreign correspondents, major associations among others.
  • The website now comprises of a plethora of information around 165 destinations, 2700+ pages, 28 States + 9 UTs alongwith multiple attractions. 
  • The website which is currently hosted in English and Hindi is now being launched in Chinese, Arabic and Spanish with primary objective to effectively engage the visitors across web and social media platforms thereby providing an exciting experience to the travellers visiting the website from countries from where we witness major tourist footfall.


4. Minister Narendra Singh Tomar inaugurates the Pusa Krishi Vigyan Mela-2020
  • The Union Minister for Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare, Rural Development & Panchayati Raj, Narendra Singh Tomar inaugurates the Pusa Krishi Vigyan Mela-2020 in New Delhi.
  • At a separate function, an MoU was signed between the ICAR and Patanjali Bio Research Institute (PBRI), Haridwar in the presence of the three Ministers. The MoU was signed by Dr. Trilochan Mohapatra on behalf of ICAR and Shri Acharya Balkrishna, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Patanjali & Managing Director, PBRI. Speaking on the occasion, Shri Tomar said the MoU will promote Organic Farming with the R&D expertise of ICAR and the indigenization efforts of Patanjali in a wide range of products.


5. Indian Air Force and Savitribai Phule Pune University sign MoU to establish a 'Chair of Excellence'
  • The Indian Air Force (IAF) and Savitribai Phule Pune University entered into an academic collaboration by signing a Memorandum of Understanding to establish a 'Chair of Excellence' at Department of Defence & Strategic Studies on 29 Feb 20.


6. Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurates the campus of NSG Regional Hub at Kolkata
  • Union Minister for Home Affairs, Shri Amit Shah inaugurated the campus of National Security Guard (NSG) Regional Hub campus at Kolkata.
  • The Home Minister presided over the inauguration and founding stone laying ceremony of various welfare projects for NSG, amounting to over Rs. 245 crores, across Kolkata, Manesar, Chennai and Mumbai.


7. GST Revenue Collection Crosses 1 lakh Crore for February 2020, gross revenue hike 8% - Finance Ministry
  • The gross GST revenue collected in the month of February, 2020 is ₹ 1,05,366 crore of which CGST is ₹ 20,569 crore, SGST is ₹ 27,348 crore, IGST is ₹ 48,503 crore (including ₹ 20,745 crore collected on imports) and Cess is ₹ 8,947 crore (including ₹ 1,040 Crore collected on imports). The total number of GSTR 3B Returns filed for the month of January up to 29th February, 2020 is 83.53 lakh.


8. Former India hockey star and Olympic bronze medallist Balbir Singh Kullar dies
  • Former Indian hockey player Balbir Singh Kullar, who was a part of the 1968 Olympics bronze-winning team, has died after suffering a heart attack at his home in Punjab. He was 77.
