1. PM Narendra Modi to interact with Jan Aushadi Pariyojana Kendras on Jan Aushadi Diwas on 7th March 2020
  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi shall participate in Jan Aushadi Diwas celebrations on 7th March 2020 through Video Conference from New Delhi. PM Modi shall interact with seven Pradhan Mantri Bharatiya Janaushadi Pariyojana Kendras.
  • In order to celebrate achievements of the scheme and provide further impetus, 7th March is proposed to be celebrated as “Janaushadi Diwas” across India.


2. Former President of Iceland, Mr Olafur Ragnar Grimsson meets on the President
  • Mr Olafur Ragnar Grimsson, former President of Iceland called on the President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
  • The President appreciated Mr Grimsson’s initiative to get all stakeholders on the Arctic together on one global platform – the Arctic Circle. He said that we all have to contribute towards building a sustainable planet for ourselves and for our future generations.

  • Scientists at International Advanced Research for Powder Metallurgy & New Materials (ARCI), Hyderabad, an autonomous R&D Centre of Department of Science and Technology (DST) have developed Polymer Electrolyte Membrane fuel cells (PEMFC).

  • India-European Union Flagship Call on Integrated Local Energy Systems was announced at India Smart Utility Week 2020 in the presence of Prof Ashutosh Sharma, Secretary, Department of Science & Technology (DST) and European Union Ambassador to India Mr Ugo Astuto.
  • This partnership between Indian and European Union will help in Clean Energy and Climate and this partnership will foresee strengthened cooperation in energy research and innovation, mainly in renewable energy and its integration in the energy system. 6. Minister Smriti Irani releases book titled Chronicles of Change Champions in New Delhi
  • Union Minister of Women & Child Development Smriti Zubin Irani, released a book, titled “Chronicles of Change Champions” at an event held in New Delhi.
  • The book is a compilation of 25 innovative initiatives taken at the State and District levels under the Prime Minister’s flagship scheme of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP). It captures the convergent approach adopted at the grassroots level and provides insight into the unique manner of community engagement by the District Administration and front line workers.

  • NITI Aayog’s Women Entrepreneurship Platform is organising the Fourth Edition of the Women Transforming India Awards (WTI) on International Women’s Day, Sunday, 8 March 2020.The WTI will recognize 30 finalists and 15 winners will be felicitated. On this occasion, the Women Entrepreneurship Platform also completes two years since its inception.

9. 226th Meeting of Central Board of Trustees Held
  • The 226th, Meeting of the Central Board of Trustees (CBT), EPF was held, under the chairmanship of Shri Santosh Kumar Gangwar, Minister of State for Labour & Employment (Independent Charge) and Vice Chairmanship of Shri Heeralal Samariya, Secretary, Ministry of Labour & Employment. Central Provident Fund Commissioner Shri Sunil Barthwal conducted the meeting as Member Secretary, CBT, EPF.


10. Gajendra Singh Shekhawat launches Swachh Bharat Mission (Grameen) Phase-II
  • The Union Minister for Jal Shakti, Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat launched Phase II of Swachh Bharat Mission (Grameen) [SBM (G)] at a National Dissemination and Consultation workshop in New Delhi.
  • Phase – II of the SBM(G) will focus on sustaining the gains made under the programme in last five years in terms of toilet access and usage, ensuring that no one is left behind. It will ensure that effective solid and liquid waste management (SLWM) is instituted in every Gram Panchayat of the country.
