Bollywood legendary actor Irrfan Khan passed away at the Kokilaben Ambani Hospital in Mumbai today. He was 53.

The Bollywood actor, who was diagnosed with cancer in 2018, had been admitted to Kokilaben Ambani Hospital in Mumbai for a colon infection on Tuesday.

Filmmaker Shoojit Sircar shared the news of Irrfan Khan's death on Twitter. He wrote, "My dear friend Irfaan. You fought and fought and fought. I will always be proud of you.. we shall meet again.. condolences to Sutapa and Babil.. you too fought, Sutapa you gave everything possible in this fight. Peace and Om shanti. Irfaan Khan salute".

Irfan Khan was diagnosed with a disease called neuro-endocrine tumor two years ago in March 2018.

Irfan Khan was cured by getting treatment for this disease abroad. After returning to India, Irrfan Khan worked in the Angrezi Medium film.
