1. Prime Minister Narendra Modi to interact with Gram Panchayats to mark National Panchayati Raj Day
  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address village Panchayats across the country today to mark the National Panchayati Raj Day.
  • PM Modi will also interact with various participants through video conferencing in view of lockdown.


2. Rajnath Singh inaugurates DRDO developed Mobile Laboratory to test COVID19 samples
  • Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh unveiled via video conference a Mobile Virology Research and Diagnostics Laboratory (MVRDL) developed by DRDO in association with ESIC Hospital, Hyderabad and Private industry.
  • The first of such Mobile Viral Research Lab (MVRL) that will speed up COVID-19 screening and related R&D activities was developed by Research Centre Imarat (RCI), the Hyderabad based laboratory of DRDO in consultation with ESIC Hospital, Hyderabad.


3. I&B Minister Prakash Javadekar hails contribution of frontline COVID-19 warriors
  • Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar hailed the contribution of frontline COVID-19 warriors such as healthcare workers, police personnel and sanitation workers.
  • I&B Minister Javadekar on Thursday handed out letters of appreciation to them in New Delhi.


4. Federal Bank to acquire additional stake of up to 4% in IDBI Federal Life Insurance
  • Federal Bank's Board has approved in principle purchase of additional stake of up to 4 per cent in the equity capital of IDBI Federal Life Insurance Co Ltd (IFLIC) from IDBI Bank.
  • IDBI Bank has 48 per cent stake in IFLIC. Since Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) has 51 per cent majority stake in IDBI Bank, the latter is looking to sell its entire stake in IFLIC.


5. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank launches VidyaDaan 2.0 for inviting e-learning content contributions
  • Human Resources and Development (HRD) Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank launched national program VidyaDaan 2.0, on DIKSHA platform to invite e-learning content contributions.
  • The programme has been launched due to the increasing requirement for e-learning content for students in both school and higher education especially  in the backdrop of situation arising out of COVID-19.


6. Ministry of Tourism organises 6th webinar of Dekho Apna Desh Series on ‘Making India an Inclusive Travel Destination For All’
  • The Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India is organising a series of Webinars on the overall theme of ‘Dekho Apna Desh’. 
  • The objective of these Webinars is to create awareness about and promote various tourism destinations of India – including the lesser known destinations and lesser known facets of popular destinations. 


7. Karnataka govt launches "Apthamitra" app to fight COVID-19
  • The Government of Karnataka Launches Apthamitra mobile app and helpline toll free No: 14410 which aims to provide the necessary medical advice and guidance for the Coronavirus to the needy people.
  • The help line and app was launched by Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa in the presence of senior Ministers and officials of the department.


8. Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh launches First Mobile Testing for Covid-19, through video conferencing
  • Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh dedicated the first COVID-19 sample collection mobile Lab of the country namely “Mobile BSL-3 VRDL Lab” to the nation through video conference.
  • This Lab has been developed by Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO), Ministry of Defence, Govt. of India  in collaboration with ESIC Medical College & Hospital, Sanathnagar (Hyderabad) with due permission of Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and Govt. of Telangana.
