PM Narendra Modi holds a comprehensive meeting to discuss strategies on boosting investment in India: Highlights with Details

Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a comprehensive meeting to discuss strategies to attract more foreign investments into India as well as to promote local investments in order to give a boost to the economy against the backdrop of the COVID-19 Pandemic. 

It was discussed that a scheme should be developed to promote more plug and play infrastructure in the existing industrial lands/plots/estates in the country and provide necessary financing support. During the meeting, the PM directed that the action should be taken for a more proactive approach to handhold the investors, to look into their problems and help them in getting all the necessary Central and State clearances in a time bound manner.

CCI approves BP Global proposed 49% acquisition of Reliance BP Mobility Limited (RBPML)

The Competition Commission of India (CCI) approves Proposed Combination between BP Global Investments Limited (BP Global) and Reliance BP Mobility Limited (RBPML) under Section 31(1) of the Competition Act, 2002.

The subsequent proposed acquisition by BP Global of an aggregate 49% of the fully diluted paid-up equity share capital and voting rights in and of RBPML by way of acquisition of existing equity shares of RBPML from RIL and subscription by BP Global to fresh equity shares of RBPML.......Read More



Nitin Gadkari launches Bank of Schemes, Ideas, Innovation & Research Portal on MSMEs

Union Minister of Road transport & Highways and MSME Nitin Gadkari launched Bank of Schemes, Ideas, Innovation and Research portal (ideas.msme.gov.in) on MSMEs through Video Conference from Nagpur.

The Portal gives access to all Schemes of Union, State and UT Governments. It has the provision for uploading Ideas, Innovations & Researches in the sector. The portal has unique features of not only crowd sourcing of Ideas, but also evaluation and rating the ideas by crowd sourcing. It can also facilitate inflow of venture capital, foreign collaboration etc.

Users who have idea, innovation or Research with him/her can share it on this platform which will be reviewed by the concerned Officer and publish them for public view. Registered users can rate these ideas (Crowd sourcing) and venture capitalist can connect with user having idea, innovation and research.

The online forms for Idea, innovation and research can be easily filled in 5-6 Minutes. Person can choose Areas (Credit/Finance, Human Capital Development, Technology, Infrastructure, Marketing, Policy, etc)

Person can indicate his Sector (Rural Technology Innovation, Waste-to-Wealth, Agro-Processing, Manufacturing, Services, Khadi, Coir, etc)

NTA extends deadline for submission of online applications for various exams

National Testing Agency has  extended the deadline for submission of online applications for various examinations.

The decision has been taken in view of COVID-19 pandemic. The last date to apply for the National Council of Hotel Management JEE 2020, Indira Gandhi National Open University  admission test for PhD and OPENMAT (MBA), Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and Jawaharlal Nehru University Entrance Examination has been further extended till 15th of May  this year. 



CCI approves the acquisition of less than 5% shareholding in Intas Pharmaceuticals Limited by Canary Investments Limited and Link Investment Trust II

The Competition Commission of India (CCI) approves the acquisition of less than 5% shareholding in Intas Pharmaceuticals Limited by Canary Investments Limited and Link Investment Trust II, under Section 31(1) of the Competition Act, 2002.

The Proposed Combination relates to acquisition of less than 5% shareholding ofIntas Pharmaceuticals Limited (Intas) by Canary Investments Limited (Canary) and Link Investment Trust II (Link II).

Canary is an investment company registered in Mauritius. Link II is a private trust created and registered under the laws of India.Intas is a public limited company incorporated and registered under the laws of India. Intas is said to be a vertically integrated global pharmaceutical formulation development, manufacturing, and marketing company.

The Commission approved the Proposed Combination subject to the carrying out of modifications proposed by Canary and Link II.



CCI approves proposed acquisition of 100% shares and control of Tech Data Corporation by Tiger Midco LLC

The Competition Commission of India (CCI) approves the proposed acquisition of 100% shares and control of Tech Data Corporation by Tiger Midco LLC.

The proposed combination relates to the acquisition of Tech Data Corporation (Tech Data) by Tiger Midco LLC (Tiger Midco) by way of merger of Tech Data with a wholly owned subsidiary of Tiger Midco, viz., Merger Sub.

Tiger Midco is a special purpose vehicle set up and managed by investment funds managed by affiliates of Apollo Management, L.P. that manage funds invested in equity and debt issued by entities involved in various businesses throughout the world.

Tech Data, a NASDAQ listed corporation, is active globally in the wholesale distribution of technology products and solutions to resellers.  Tech Data is present in India through a subsidiary, Tech Data Advanced Solutions (India) Pvt. Ltd. (“Tech Data India”).



MHA to States/UTs: Ensure Free Movement of Trucks/Goods Carriers: Highlights with Details

It has been reported that at inter-State borders in different parts of the country, movement of trucks is not allowed freely and local authorities insist upon separate passes.

Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has re-iterated to all States/UTs that, as per the consolidated revised guidelines on lockdown measures, no separate passes are required for through traffic of trucks and goods carriers, including empty trucks etc.

In the communication, it has been stressed that this free movement is essential for maintaining the supply chain of goods and services across the country during the lockdown period.

MHA, on 15.04.2020, had issued the consolidated revised guidelines on lockdown measures to fight COVID-19.

These consolidated guidelines clearly mention that all goods traffic through trucks/goods carriers would be allowed to ply freely.



PM Modi discusses COVID -19 situation with Myanmar leader

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a telephonic conversation with Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, State Counsellor of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar on 30 April 2020.

The leaders discussed the evolving COVID 19 scenario in the domestic and regional contexts and updated each other on the steps being taken to control the spread of the pandemic.

The leaders agreed to remain in touch and work together to address the present and future challenges posed by COVID-19.

Over 325000 people are using Janaushadhi Sugam Mobile App to avail the host of benefits provided by it.

In order to make use of digital technology for easing the life of consumers, this mobile application for Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP)  has been developed by Bureau of Pharma PSUs of India (BPPI) under Department of Pharmaceuticals , Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers,Government of India, for facilitating the general public by providing a digital platform at the tip of their fingers, by the virtue of which they can avail a host of user-friendly options like locate nearby Janaushadhi kendra, direction guided through Google Map for location of the Janaushadhi kendra, search Janaushadhi generic medicines, analyze product comparison of Generic and Branded medicine in form of MRP & overall Savings, etc. 



AYURAKSHA-Corona Se Jung- Delhi Police Ke Sang launched by All India Institute of Ayurveda

The All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), under the Ministry of AYUSH and Delhi Police organised AYURAKSHA programme for Delhi Police personal at New Delhi. The joint programme titled AYURAKSHA “Corona Se Jung- Delhi Police Ke Sang” aims to fight against corona through simple and time tested Ayurveda immunity boosting measures.

These measures are as per the advisory issued by the Ministry of AYUSH. The recommended formulations like Chyawanaprasha (Amla as main content), Anu Taila and SanshamaniVati (prepared from Guduchi) have simple herbs which are time tested and scientifically proven for enhancing the immunity.

Delhi Police has come forward with a proposal for maintaining the health of front line COVID warriors like Delhi police personal through Ayurveda immunity boosting measures. The proposal would be implemented in a phase wise manner. The distribution will take place for nearly 80000 personal of Delhi police across 15 districts of NCT Delhi. All India Institute of Ayurveda has nominated 3 main coordinators under the Director of Institute. 15 nodal officers of AIIA have been identified for 15 districts of Delhi State who will be working in close coordination with 15 Nodal officers from Delhi Police.

Phase I: All quarantined police officers and officials
Phase II: Police officials/officers deputed in containment zones
Phase III: Police officials/officers deputed in quarantine zones
Phase IV: All policemen working as front line workers in field.
