Home Ministry issued Standard Operating Procedure SOP for movement of Indian nationals stranded abroad and for those stranded in India desirous to travel abroad.

For movement of Indian nationals stranded abroad, Home Ministry said, the stranded persons have to register with Indian Missions. They will travel to India by non scheduled commercial flights allowed by Ministry of Civil Aviation or Ships allowed by Department of Military Affairs or Ministry of Shipping.

Priority will be given to compelling cases including migrant workers, short-term visa-holders, pregnant women and elderly. Bihar Postal Circle of Department of Posts to deliver "Shahi Lichi"and "Zardalu Mango" at doorsteps of people 

The Department of Posts, Government of India and Department of Horticulture, Government of Bihar have joined hands to supply ''Shahi Lichi'' & "Zardalu Mango" to the people at doorstep. Bihar Postal Circle has made an agreement with Department of Horticulture, Government of Bihar for logistics of Shahi Lichi from Muzaffarpur and Zardalu Mango from Bhagalpur and its delivery to the door step of the people.

Because of lockdown to contain the spread of corona virus, Litchi & Mangoes cultivators have been finding it difficult to carry/transport their fruits to the markets for sale. Its supply amongst people has become big challenge and so to meet the demand of public and for giving market space directly to farmers to sell their fruits without any middlemen, the Department of Horticulture, Govt.of Bihar & Department of Posts, Govt of India have joined hands for this initiative.

The ''Shahi Lichi'' of Muzaffarpur (Bihar) & "Zardalu Mango" of Bhagalpur(Bihar) are famous in world by virtue of their unique fragrance and demand everywhere. People can place order on website (horticulture.bihar.gov.in) online. This facility will be initially available to people of Muzaffarpur & Patna for ''Shahi Lichi'' & Patna & Bhagalpur for "Zardalu Mango" . Lichi will be booked minimum for 2 kgs and mangoes for 5 kgs.



Domestic flight operations to resume today in the country in graded manner 

Domestic airline operations are set to resume in the country in a graded manner from today. As per the directions of the Civil Aviation Ministry, domestic flight operations will resume after remaining suspended for about two months following the nationwide lockdown imposed to constrain the COVID-19 pandemic.

Commercial passenger flights at Delhi airport will initially operate from Terminal 3.



Vande Bharat Mission continues, more than 7300 Indians repatriated from Gulf countries 

As Vande Bharat Mission continues to bring back Indians stranded abroad, more than 7300 distressed Indians have been repatriated from Gulf countries in the first leg of the second phase of the mission.

14 flights in the last week took back approximately 2500 Indians from Dubai. In the first phase nearly 2000 Indians were repatriated from Dubai. 1045 people were sent back from Abu Dhabi to various places in India. Muscat sent back 1970 passengers on 11 flights to India. More flights are expected in the second leg of the second phase of the Vande Bharat Mission.

Under the Vande Bharat Mission, around 23 thousand Indians have been repatriated through flights operated by Air India and its subsidiary Air India Express between 7th to 21st of this month. The Mission would be able to bring a total of 50 thousand Indians, who have been stranded abroad, home by the end of this month.


Health Ministry issues guidelines for international arrivals

Health Ministry has issued guidelines for international arrivals. According to the guidelines, all travellers shall give an undertaking before boarding that they would undergo mandatory quarantine for 14 days. This includes 7 days paid institutional quarantine at their own cost, followed by 7 days isolation at home with self-monitoring of health.

Home quarantine may be permitted for 14 days only for exceptional and compelling reasons such as cases of human distress, pregnancy, death in family, serious illness and parents accompanied by children below 10 years.


Indian Railways has run 2813 Shramik Special trains, carrying over 37 lakh passengers, till 10 am of 24.05.2020 

Indian Railways has run more than 2813 Shramik Special trains, carrying over 37 lakh passengers, till 10 am of 24.05.2020. Nearly 60 per cent trains originated from Gujarat, Maharashtra and Punjab and are majorly destined for Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. 80 per cent of total Shramik Special trains are destined for various destinations in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar (1301 for U.P. and 973 for Bihar). Most of the destinations in U.P are around Lucknow - Gorakhpur sector and in Bihar around Patna. Of 565 trains on run since yesterday, 266 were going to Bihar and 172 to Uttar Pradesh.

To ease the congestion few trains were diverted via Mathura, Jharsuguda. Further, route rationalisation order has been issued to avoid congestion on routes with heavy traffic. Round the clock monitoring at Railway Board level, Zonal Railway level and Divisional level is being done to ensure that trains are not delayed. The train running staff have also been sensitised to ensure punctual running of Shramik spl trains. With these efforts, the congestion position has eased considerably and the mobility of trains has drastically improved.

Due to the surge in east bound trains leading to network congestion, trains got delayed and this affected the meals distribution schedule. IRCTC and Railways have mobilized resources to ensure regular supply of meals and water to the Shramik Special trains and minimize inconvenience to the passengers.




Govt issues notification for L7 (Quadricycle) category for BS VI notified

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has issued notification GSR 308(E ) dated 22nd May 2020 regarding the emission norms for L7 (Quadricycle) category for BS VI. These norms are applicable from the date of notification. This notification completes the process of BS VI for all L, M and N category vehicles in India. The emission norms are in line with EU with WMTC cycle. The procedure for testing is laid down in AIS 137-Part 9.
