I. Home Secretary Ajay Kumar Bhalla gets extension of service till 22nd August, 2021
  • Home Secretary Ajay Kumar Bhalla has got extension of service till 22nd August, 2021.
  • The Appointment Committee of the Cabinet approved the extension of Mr Bhalla in the same post, beyond the date of his superannuation on 30th Nov, 2020.


II. Bangladesh-India to resume flights under ‘air bubble’ arrangement from October 28
  • The flights between Bangladesh and India will resume from October 28 under the ‘air-bubble’ arrangement between the two countries. 
  • Announcing this through a Facebook post on Saturday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh said that three Bangladeshi airlines- Biman Bangladesh, US-Bangla Airlines and Novo Air will initially operate 28 flights a week to India.


III. 9 States and UTs selected for upgradation to KISCE
  • Nine States and Union Territories have been selected for upgradation to Khelo India State Centre of Excellence, KISCE. 
  • The States and UTs include Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Chandigarh, Goa, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Puducherry, Tripura and Jammu and Kashmir. 
  • The Sports Ministry said, the centres have been selected based on their past performances, quality of infrastructure, management and sports culture in the State.


IV. India - Kazakhstan organise Defence Cooperation: Webinar and Expo
  • A webinar between India and Kazakhstan was held. The Theme of webinar was “Make In India For The World, India – Kazakhstan Defence Cooperation: Webinar and Expo”. 
  • It was organized under the aegis of Department of Defence Production, Ministry of Defence through FICCI.
  • This webinar is the part of the series of webinars which are being organized with friendly foreign countries in order to boost defence exports and achieve defence export target of $5 billion in the next five years.
