Indian Army gifts 20 Horses and 10 Mine Detection Dogs to Bangladesh Army  

In an endeavour to further strengthen the bilateral relations between the two Countries in general and between the two Armies in particular, the Indian Army gifted 20 fully trained military horses and 10 mine detection dogs to Bangladesh Army. These equines and canines were trained by the Remount and Veterinary Corps of Indian Army. The Indian Army has also trained Bangladesh Army personnel for training and handling these specialist dogs and horses.

Indian Army delegation was led by Major General Narinder Singh Khroud, Chief of Staff of Brahmastra Corps whereas the Bangladesh Army Delegation was led by Major General Mohammad HumayunKabir, who is Commanding the Jessore based Division. The presentation ceremony was held at Petrapole- Benapole Integrated Check Post (ICP) on the India - Bangladesh Border. Brig JS Cheema from the Indian High Commission in Dhaka was also present at the event.


Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi to inaugurate “HunarHaat” at DilliHaat, Pitampura 

Hunar Haat will restart from today after a gap of about 7 months due to the Corona pandemic. Union Minister for Minority Affairs Shri Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi will inaugurate the Hunar Haat at Delhi Haat at Pitampura with the theme of “Vocal for Local” where indigenous exquisite products made from “Maati (clay), Metal and Machiya (wooden & jute products)” will be the major attraction.

The rare exquisite products made from clay, different metals and wooden products, products made from cane-bamboo, mesmerising pottery work etc will be available for display and sale at “Hunar Haat”, being organised at Delhi Haat, Pitampura from 11th to 22nd November, 2020.

More than 100 stalls have been set up at this “Hunar Haat”. Dry Flowers from Assam; Pochampally Ikkat from Andhra Pradesh; Munga Silk, Madhubani Painting and artificial jewellery from Bihar; wooden lacquerware toys from Karnataka; toys from Manipur; wooden and glass toys from Uttar Pradesh; calligraphy painting from Delhi; hand block print from Goa; Ajrakh from Gujarat; Pashmina Shawls from Jammu-Kashmir; Tussar silk and cane-bamboo products from Jharkhand; herbal products, Bagh print, Batik from Madhya Pradesh; cane and bamboo products from Maharashtra, handloom textiles from Nagaland, toys of different states made from clay, metal etc will be available for display and sale at “HunarHaat” at Pitampura. Besides, people will also enjoy traditional delicacies from Bihar, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Jammu-Kashmir, Delhi, Haryana etc.

The Minority Affairs Ministry has organised more than 2 dozen “Hunar Haat” so far across the country where lakhs of artisans, craftsmen have been provided employment and employment opportunities through these “Hunar Haat”. In the coming days, “Hunar Haat” will be organized at Jaipur, Chandigarh, Indore, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Lucknow, India Gate, New Delhi, Ranchi, Kota and Surat/Ahmedabad.


20th Summit of SCO Council of Heads of State held in Video Conference Format 

20th Summit of SCO Council of Heads of State was held on November 10, 2020 (in Video Conference Format). The Meeting was chaired by the President of the Russian Federation Mr. Vladimir Putin.

Participate by

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi led the Indian delegation. Other SCO Member States were represented by their Presidents, while India and Pakistan were represented at the level of Prime Minister. Other participants were: Secretary General of the SCO Secretariat, Executive Director of the SCO Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure, the Presidents of the four Observers (Afghanistan, Belarus, Iran, Mongolia) of the SCO.

This was the first SCO Summit held in Virtual Format and third meeting that India participated after becoming a full member in 2017. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in his address to the SCO leaders congratulated President Vladimir Putin for organizing the meeting despite challenges and constraints arising due to the COVID-19 pandemic.


Bihar Election 2020: NDA retains power in Bihar with 125 seats 

Bihar Election 2020: The ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has retained power in Bihar. It has secured absolute majority in 243 member assembly. NDA got 125 seats, while opposition Grand Alliance got 110 seats. Others got 8 seats

BJP has bagged 74 seats, while JD(U) won 43 seats. Hindustani Awami Morcha (HAM) and Vikas Sheel Insaan Party (VIP) secured four seats each. On the other hand, RJD won 75 seats and Congress 19. CPI and CPM got 2 seats each. CPI(ML) has won 12 seats.


PM Modi to unveil statue of Swami Vivekananda at JNU campus 

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will unveil the life-size statue of Swami Vivekananda at the campus of Jawaharlal Nehru University on 12th November via video conferencing. Union Minister for Education will also be present on the occasion.


IPL Final 2020: Mumbai Indians beat Delhi Capitals by 5 wkts to clinch title for record 5th time

IPL Final 2020: Rohit Sharma's 68 and Trent Boult's 3 for 30 - including two wickets in his first two overs helped Mumbai Indians defeated Delhi Capitals by five wickets in the title match played at the Dubai International Stadium on Tuesday to claim the title of the 13th season of IPL. This is the fifth IPL title for Mumbai.

Batting first, Delhi Capitals scored 156 at the loss of 7 wickets. In response, the Mumbai Indians team, chasing the target of 157 runs, scored 157 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 18.4 overs.

Earlier, Mumbai Indians won the IPL Trophy in 2013, 2015, 2017 and 2019. Delhi was playing the final for the first time, but could not win the title.
