The Government of India (GOI) has announced the third stimulus package of Rs. 900 Crore for the Mission COVID Suraksha- The Indian COVID-19 Vaccine Development Mission. This grant will be provided to the Department of Biotechnology (DBT) for Research & Development of Indian COVID-19 vaccines.

The COVID-19 Vaccine development Mission with end-to-end focus from preclinical development through clinical development and manufacturing and regulatory facilitation for deployment, would consolidate all available and funded resources towards an accelerated product development. This will help accelerate development of approx. 5-6 vaccine candidates and ensure that these are brought closer to licensure and introduction in market for consideration of regulatory authorities for introduction in public health systems, to combat further spread of COVID infection.
Objective - Govt. launches Mission COVID Suraksha to accelerate Indian COVID-19 Vaccine Development
The important objectives of the fund will be accelerating pre-clinical & clinical development; licensure of COVID-19 vaccine candidates that are currently in clinical stages or ready to enter clinical stage of development, establishing clinical trial sites, and strengthening the existing immunoassay laboratories, central laboratories and suitable facilities for animal studies, production facilities and other testing facilities to support COVID-19 vaccine development.

PM Narendra Modi to interact with 3 teams involved in developing COVID-19 vaccine
The Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will interact tomorrow via video conferencing with Gennova Biopharma, Biological E and Dr. Reddy’s teams involved in developing a COVID-19 vaccine.
In a tweet, the PMO said, "Tomorrow, on 30th November 2020, PM @narendramodi will interact, via video conferencing, with three teams that are involved in developing a COVID-19 vaccine. The teams he will interact with are from Gennova Biopharma, Biological E and Dr. Reddy’s."

The Rajasthan government has announced that schools, colleges, cinema, amusement parks etc. in the state will remain closed till 31 December.
A total of 2 lakh 34 thousand 336 patients have been recovered from COVID-19 infection so far in Rajasthan and the number of active cases is 28,758.

The first flyover at Sindhu Bhavan cross roads and second flyover at Sanand junction will be dedicated through virtual mode. 245 meter long Sindhu Bhavan flyover has been built at the cost of 35 crore rupees, while a 240 meter Sanand junction flyover has been built at the cost of 36 crore rupees.

Farmers reject Amit Shah's offer to move protest to Burari ground: Farmers protesting against the Centre's three farm laws on Sunday decided not to shift to the Burari ground in the national capital and stay put at the Delhi borders. Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday appealed to the farmers to go to the Sant Nirankari ground in Burari to protest and said that the Modi government is ready to discuss with them as soon as they go to the designated place.
We have decided that we will stay put at the Delhi borders. We will not go to Burari, Bharatiya Kisan Union (Dakaunda) president Buta Singh Burjgill said.

Dutee Chand and K T Irfan included in Target Olympic Podium Scheme (TOPS) Core group along with some promising young athletes in the Development Group. 8 Track and Field Athletes were included in the core group of the Target Olympic Podium Scheme at the 50th MOC meeting held on November 26. 7 Track and Field Athletes were included in the TOPS developmental group.
The decision to include athletes in the TOPS core group was based on their performance progression and their qualification or high probability of qualification for the Tokyo Olympics scheduled next year. The following athletes were inducted into the TOPS scheme: Shivpal Singh (Men’s Javelin Throw and qualified for Olympics), Annu Rani (Women’s Javelin Throw), KT Irfan (Men’s 20km walk and qualified for Olympics), Arokia Rajiv (Men’s 400m and 4x400m relay), Noah Nirmal Tom (Men’s 400m and 4x400m relay), Alex Anthony (Men’s 400m and 4x400m relay), MR Poovamma (Women’s 400m and 4x400m relay) and Dutee Chand (Women’s 100m and 200m). India earned an Olympic quota in the Mixed 4x400m relay at the 2019 World Championships.
The following 7 athletes have been included in TOPS developmental group: Harsh Kumar (Men’s 400m and 4x400m relay), Veeramani Revathi (Women’s 400m and 4x400m relay), Vithya R (Women’s 400m and 4x400m relay), Tejaswin Shankar (Men’s High Jump), Shaili Singh (Women’s Long Jump), Sandra Babu (Women’s Triple Jump) and Harshita Sehrawat (Women’s Hammer Throw).
