1. Ministry of Textiles has launched a Campaign #Local4Diwali
  • Union Ministry of Textiles has launched a Campaign #Local4Diwali for let’s come together to show our support for local textile and handicraft business. Be it the humble earthen Diya, the desi drape, home furnishings like bed sheets, curtains or handcrafted goods that you gift your near and dear ones; this Diwali make every purchase count.

2. PM Modi dedicate to the nation two future-ready Ayurveda institutions at Jamnagar and Jaipur
  • Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will dedicate to the nation Institute of Teaching and Research in Ayurveda (ITRA) at Jamnagar and National Institute of Ayurveda (NIA) at Jaipur on 5th Ayurveda Day (i.e) 13th November, 2020 via video conferencing. These institutions are expected to play global leadership roles in the growth and development of Ayurveda in the 21st Century.
  • The Ayurveda Day is being observed every year from 2016, on the day of Dhanwantri Jayanti. This year it falls on 13th November 2020. Ayurveda day is more an occasion of re-dedication to the profession and the society, than one of festivities or celebrations.
  • Potential role of Ayurveda in the management of the Covid-19 pandemic will be the focus of this year’s ‘Ayurveda Day’ observation.


3. Equestrian Federation of India (EFI) is Organising Federation Equestre Internationale (FEI) Eventing from 12-15 Nov
  • The FEI Eventing Competition will be held at Army Polo and Riding Centre (APRC), Delhi Cantt from 12 – 15 Nov 2020.
  • Eventing is combination of tests consisting of three disciplines i.e Dressage, Cross-Country & Show Jumping. An athlete with minimum penalties is the winner of his/her respective category i.e One Star Intro and Two Star Short.


4. IFSC Authority approves the International Financial Services Centres Authority (Banking) Regulations, 2020
  • A meeting of the International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA) was held today. The IFSC Authority, after detailed deliberations, approved the International Financial Services Centres Authority (Banking) Regulations, 2020.
  • Banking constitutes one of the major focus areas of IFSC and is expected to drive and facilitate the other constituent operations in the IFSC in due course. A self-contained regulation laying down the major principles of banking operations at IFSCs is thus an important step in the IFSC reaching its desired potential.


5. Australian Navy Ship Ballarat Visits Goa
  • Australian Navy Ship HMAS Ballarat, a frigate, made a port call at Mormugao Port, Goa on 10 Nov 20. The ship was received by officers from Headquarters Goa Naval Area and the Defence Advisor at the Australian High Commission in India.
  • After completing Phase I of quadrilateral Naval Exercise Malabar at Bay of Bengal, HMAS Ballarat is proceeding to participate in Phase II of the exercise in Arabian Sea.
  • The ship would be leaving Goa on 13 Nov 20, and the ship's crew is highly excited about exercising with the Aircraft Carrier for the first time.
