I. 27th edition of India Navy - Singapore Navy Bilateral Maritime Exercise SIMBEX-20 from 23 to 25 November 2020 in Andaman Sea
  • Indian Navy (IN) is scheduled to host the 27th edition of India - Singapore Bilateral Maritime Exercise SIMBEX-20 from 23 to 25 November 2020 in Andaman Sea.
  • The SIMBEX series of exercises between IN and Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN), being conducted annually since 1994, are aimed at enhancing mutual inter-operability and imbibing best practices from each other. The scope and complexity of these exercises has increased steadily over the past two decades to include advanced naval drills covering a wide spectrum of maritime operations.

VII. High level central teams sent to HP, Punjab and UP to support in COVID response and management
  • Centre has rushed high level teams to Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh to support the States in their COVID response and management. These States have been either reporting a rise in the number of active cases, or demonstrating a rise in the daily new cases.
  • These three-member teams will visit the districts, reporting a high number of COVID cases and support the State efforts towards strengthening containment, surveillance, testing, infection prevention and control measures, and efficient clinical management of the positive cases.
