I. Shri Guru Nanak Jayanti being celebrated with traditional fervour across the country
  1. Shri Guru Nanak Jayanti or Gurpurab is being celebrated with religious fervour across India and the world today. It marks the birth of the first Sikh Guru, Guru Nanak, who laid the foundation of Sikhism. This year marks the 551st birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev.
  2. On this day, devotees around the world offer prayers. The Golden temple in Amritsar celebrates Gurpurab with much aplomb.


II. Govt. launches Mission COVID Suraksha to accelerate Indian COVID-19 Vaccine Development
  1. The Government of India (GOI) has announced the third stimulus package of Rs. 900 Crore for the Mission COVID Suraksha- The Indian COVID-19 Vaccine Development Mission. This grant will be provided to the Department of Biotechnology (DBT) for Research & Development of Indian COVID-19 vaccines.
  2. The COVID-19 Vaccine development Mission with end-to-end focus from preclinical development through clinical development and manufacturing and regulatory facilitation for deployment, would consolidate all available and funded resources towards an accelerated product development.

  2. In a tweet, the PMO said, "Tomorrow, on 30th November 2020, PM @narendramodi will interact, via video conferencing, with three teams that are involved in developing a COVID-19 vaccine. The teams he will interact with are from Gennova Biopharma, Biological E and Dr. Reddy’s."


VI. Home Minister Amit Shah to dedicate two new flyovers in Gujarat via Video Conference 
  1. Home Minister Amit Shah will dedicate two new flyovers in Ahmedabad Gujarat today, via Video Conference. The first flyover at Sindhu Bhavan cross roads and second flyover at Sanand junction will be dedicated through virtual mode.
  2. 245 meter long Sindhu Bhavan flyover has been built at the cost of 35 crore rupees, while a 240 meter Sanand junction flyover has been built at the cost of 36 crore rupees.

Dutee Chand and K T Irfan included in Target Olympic Podium Scheme (TOPS) Core group along with some promising young athletes in the Development Group. 8 Track and Field Athletes were included in the core group of the Target Olympic Podium Scheme at the 50th MOC meeting held on November 26. 7 Track and Field Athletes were included in the TOPS developmental group.
  2. The decision to include athletes in the TOPS core group was based on their performance progression and their qualification or high probability of qualification for the Tokyo Olympics scheduled next year.
