RS Chauhan appointed as new Chief Justice of Uttarakhand High Court: Telangana High Court Chief Justice Raghvendra Singh Chauhan appointed as the new Chief Justice of the Uttarakhand High Court.

Justice RS Chauhan, who was the Chief Justice of Telangana High Court take oath as Chief Justice of Uttarakhand High Court at Raj Bhavan. The Governor of Uttarakhand State Baby Rani Maurya administered oath to Justice RS Chauhan as Chief Justice of Uttarakhand High Court.

The central government on Thursday (31st December) notified that Telangana high court (HC) Chief Justice Raghvendra Singh Chauhan has been transferred to the Uttarakhand High Court (HC) in Nainital.

Justice RS Chauhan was serving in Telangana High Court Chief Justice from June 23, 2019.

About - New Chief Justice of Uttarakhand High Court RS Chauhan 

Justice Raghvendra Singh Chauhan, B.A., LL.B, was born on December 24, 1959, He was enrolled as an Advocate on November 13, 1983. He practiced in the Rajasthan High Court, Jaipur Bench for 20 years in constitutional, criminal and service matters. His field of specialization is in criminal and service matters.

Justice RS Chauhan was appointed as an Additional Judge of the Rajasthan High Court on June 13, 2005 and as Permanent Judge on January 24.2008. He was transferred to Karnataka High Court on 1 0th March, 2015 and to Telangana and Andhra Pradesh High Court on 22nd November, 2018. He was appointed as Acting Chief Justice of Telangana High Court on 04th April, 2019 and as Chief Justice of Telangana High Court on 22nd June, 2019.

Govt. transfers 4 Chief Justices and 6 High Court Judges

Govt. transfers 4 Chief Justices and 6 High Court Judges: The President of India Shri Ram Nath Kovind in exercise of the power conferred by clause (1) of Article 222 of the Constitution of India, and after consultation with the Chief Justice of India, transferred the following Chief Justices/ Judges of High Courts :

  • Chief Justice of Telangana High Court, Justice RS Chauhan to Uttarakhand High Court.
  • Chief Justice of Andhra Pradesh High Court, Justice JK Maheshwari to Sikkim High Court.
  • Chief Justice of Orissa High Court, Justice Mohammad Rafiq to Madhya Pradesh High Court.
  • Chief Justice of Sikkim High Court, Justice AK Goswami to Andhra Pradesh High Court.
  • Justice Sanjay Yadav of Madhya Pradesh High Court to Allahabad High Court.
  • Justice Rajesh Bindal of Jammu & Kashmir High Court to Calcutta High Court.
  • Justice Vineet Kothari of Madras High Court to Gujarat High Court.
  • Justice Joymalya Bagchi of Calcutta High Court to Andhra Pradesh High Court.
  • Justice Satish Chandra Sharma of Madhya Pradesh High Court to Karnataka High Court.
  • Justice Ravi Vijay Kumar Malimath of Uttarakhan High Court to Himachal Pradesh High Court.
