Cabinet approves Comprehensive Economic Cooperation and Partnership Agreement between India and Mauritius      

The Union Cabinet, chaired by the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi has approved signing of the Comprehensive Economic Cooperation and Partnership Agreement (CECPA) between India and Mauritius.

11th IEA, IEF, OPEC Symposium on Energy Outlooks held in virtual format 

Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas &Steel, participated in the 11th IEA-IEF-OPEC Symposium on Energy Outlooks —held virtually— on 17th February 2021 under the patronage of the Minister of Energy of Saudi Arabia HRH Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman Al Saud.

The symposium saw the presence of heads of all top inter-governmental energy agencies -IEF, IEA, OPEC, IRENA and the GECF. Also, dignitaries like, H.E. Norma RocíoNahle García, Secretary of Energy, Mexico and H.E. Timipre Sylva, Minister of State of Petroleum Resources of Nigeria participated in the event.

Apart from the comparative analysis of short, medium, and long-term energy outlooks that OPEC and the IEA published in 2020, the trilateral symposium reflected on the long-term outlooks of key producer and consumer countries.


PM Modi to inaugurate and lay foundation stone of key projects of power and urban sector in Kerala on 19th February  

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of key projects of power and urban sector in Kerala on 19th February 2021 at 4:30 PM via video conferencing. 

Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate the 320 KV Pugalur (Tamil Nadu) - Thrissur (Kerala) power transmission project. Prime Minister Modi will dedicate to the nation the 50 MW Kasaragod Solar Power Project. It has been developed under the National Solar Energy Mission. Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone of the Integrated Command and Control Centre at Thiruvananthapuram. 

Prime Minister Modi will lay the foundation stone of the Smart Roads Project in Thiruvananthapuram. Prime Minister will inaugurate the 75 MLD (million litres per day) Water Treatment Plant at Aruvikkara, built under the AMRUT Mission.  


Veteran Congress leader, former Union minister Captain Satish Sharma passes away at 73  

Veteran Congress leader, former Union minister Captain Satish Sharma passed away on Wednesday in Goa. He was 73. Satish Sharma, a three-time Lok Sabha MP who represented RaeBareli and Amethi constituencies.

Satish Sharma served as the Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister between 1993 and 1996 in the PV Narasimha Rao government.


Prime Minister Modi launch ‘Mahabahu-Brahmaputra’ and lay foundation stone of two bridges in Assam  

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will launch the ‘Mahabahu-Brahmaputra’, lay the foundation stone of Dhubri Phulbari Bridge and perform Bhumi Pujan for construction of Majuli Bridge Assam on 18th February 2021 at 12 noon via video conferencing.

The launch of Mahabahu-Brahmaputra will be marked by the inauguration of the Ro-Pax vessel operations between Neamati-Majuli Island, North Guwahati-South Guwahati and Dhubri-Hatsingimari; Shilanyas of Inland Water Transport (IWT) Terminal at Jogighopa and various tourist jetties on River Brahmaputra and launch of digital solutions for Ease-of-Doing-Business. The program is aimed at providing seamless connectivity to the Eastern parts of India and includes various development activities for the people living around River Brahmaputra and River Barak.


9th Round of India-Japan Consultations on Disarmament, Non-Proliferation and Export Control held in virtual format

The 9th Round of India-Japan Consultations on Disarmament, Non-Proliferation and Export Control was held in a virtual format today. The two sides exchanged views on a range of contemporary issues of mutual interest in the areas of nuclear, chemical, biological disarmament and non-proliferation, conventional weapons, outer space security and export control.


Cabinet approves Amendments to the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015  

Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015: The Union Cabinet, chaired by the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi has approved the proposal of the Ministry of Women and Child Development to amend the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015 to introduce measures for strengthening Child Protection set-up to ensure best interest of children.

Cabinet approves production-linked incentive scheme for telecom sector  

The Union Cabinet, chaired by the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, has approved Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for Telecom and Networking Products with a budgetary outlay of Rs. 12,195 crore.

The Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme intends to promote manufacture of Telecom and Networking Products in India and proposes a financial incentive to boost domestic manufacturing and attract investments in the target segments of telecom and networking products in order to encourage Make in India. The scheme will also encourage exports of telecom and networking products 'Made in India'.

Support under the Scheme will be provided to companies/entities engaged in manufacturing of specified telecom and networking products in India.


India vs England: Ahmedabad's Motera Stadium to host day-night Test and 5 T-20
