Sushil Chandra takes over as the 24th CEC of India

Sushil Chandra assumed charge as the 24th Chief Election Commissioner of India, succeeding Shri Sunil Arora. Shri Arora demitted the office on 12th April, 2021 after completing his tenure.

 About -

Shri Chandra has been serving in the Commission as Election Commissioner since 15 February 2019.He is also Member of Delimitation Commission since 18th February 2020 looking after Delimitation of Jammu Kashmir UT. Having held several posts in the Income-Tax Department for nearly 39 years, Sh Sushil Chandra had also been CBDT Chairman from 1stNovember 2016 – 14th February 2019. 


Ministry of Agriculture signs MoU with Microsoft for a pilot project in 100 villages of 6 states 

Union Ministry of Agriculture and Microsoft India inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for a pilot project in 100 villages of 6 states. With the use of technology farming will be a profitable venture for the farmers and the new generation will also get attracted towards agriculture.

Microsoft has come forward to start a pilot project in selected 100 villages in 10 districts of 6 states (Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Haryana, Rajasthan and Andhra Pradesh) to develop farmer interface for smart and well-organized agriculture, including post-harvest management and distribution.

This project will carry out various tasks for the betterment of farmers in the selected 100 villages, which will enhance their income. This project will reduce the input costs for farmers and make farming easy. It is proposed to undertake similar pilot projects with other public and private players to create a vibrant digital agro-ecosystem in the country. 


NCSC Launches “Online Grievance Management Portal” for Persons from Scheduled Castes 

Union Minister for Communication & IT and Law & Justice Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad launched the “Online Grievance Management Portal of National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC)” at a function organised by NCSC on the occasion of 130th birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Baba Saheb Dr. B. R. Ambedkar in New Delhi.

About - National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC)

The National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC) was set up under the Article 338 of the Constitution of India with the objective to investigate and monitor all issues pertaining to the safeguards provided for the Scheduled Castes under any law for the time being in force or under any order of the Government of India. 

The Commission also enquires into specific complaints with respect to the deprivation of rights and safeguards provided for the Scheduled Castes. The NCSC renews its commitment to serve the cause of the SC community as mandated in the Constitution and policies of the government. 


NITI Aayog Launches ‘Poshan Gyan’, a Digital Repository on Nutrition Information

NITI Aayog, in partnership with Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and Centre for Social and Behaviour Change, Ashoka University, today launched Poshan Gyan, a national digital repository on health and nutrition.


1st bi-annual IAF Commanders' Conference 2021 held in New Delhi 

First bi-annual IAF Commanders' Conference for the year 2021 inaugurated by Hon'ble Raksha Mantri on 15 Apr 21 at Air Headquarters (Vayu Bhawan).

Aims - 

The conference of apex level leadership is aimed at addressing the issues of IAF's operational capabilities in the times to come. A series of discussions would be conducted over a period of three days to address strategies and policies related to capabilities that would give IAF a significant edge over its adversaries. Various welfare and Human Resource measures to improve HR and administrative efficiency will also be discussed.
