Govt announces eight economic relief measures: Union Finance & Corporate Affairs Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman announced a slew of measures to provide relief to diverse sectors affected by the 2nd wave of COVID-19 pandemic. The measures announced also aim to prepare the health systems for emergency response and provide impetus for growth and employment.

Govt announces eight economic relief measures: These reliefs were announced by the government in the relief package

  1. PM Garib Kalyan Anaj Yojana.
  2. Tourism: Loan to guide and tourism agency
  3. Focus on children's health will increase ICU ventilators and beds- ambulances.
  4. Health Infrastructure: 50 thousand crores 60 thousand crores to other sectors
  5. Agriculture: Additional subsidy.
  6. Loan up to two crores will be given for oxygen plant.
  7. Credit guarantee scheme loans up to 1.25 lakh to common man also.
  8. Self-reliant India employment increased by one year, relief to the employee

A total of 17 measures amounting to Rs. 6,28,993 crore were announced. These included two measures announced earlier, i.e. the additional Subsidy for DAP & P&K fertilizers, and extension of Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY) from May to November, 2021.
