The Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, Brig. (Dr.) B. D. Mishra (Retd.), has been appointed as the Additional Governor of Mizoram by the President of India, Ram Nath Kovind.

Brig. (Dr.) Mishra (Retd.) took oath as the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh on 3rd October 2017.

Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.) was born to Late Pt. Jagannath Mishra and Late Smt. Dhirajee Devi on 20th July 1939 at Village: Kathauta, Post: Gopiganj, District: Benares now Sant Ravidas Nagar (Bhadohi), Uttar Pradesh.

B. D. Mishra is a former Brigadier of the Indian Army. He is the present Governor of Arunachal Pradesh.

Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.) is the former Commander of the Counter Hijack Force of the National Security Guard (NSG), popularly known as the Black Cat Commandos, who led a surgical strike on the Indian Airlines hijacked aircraft and after successfully eliminating the hijacker, rescued 126 passengers, 9 infants and 6 crew members at Raja Sansi Airfield, Amritsar, on 24th April 1993. He received Commendation from the Prime Minister of India for this operation.
