1. HM Amit Shah launches nutritious ‘Laddu Distribution Scheme’ for pregnant women
  • Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched a nutritious ‘Laddu Distribution Scheme’ for pregnant women in Gandhinagar.
  • Around 7,000 pregnant women in Gandhinagar area will be provided 15 nutritious laddu each, free of cost, till birth of their child, through NGOs.
  • Pregnant women need a nutritious diet most when pregnant and a laddu contains protein, ghee, vitamins and it can be eaten throughout in a month.

  • According to the new Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) issued by the Delhi government, classes should be conducted at 50 percent capacity to maintain social distance.

  • Devendra Jhajharia won the Silver medal in the men's javelin throw event at Tokyo Paralympics Games 2020.
  • Devendra Jhajharia grabbed Silver with a personal best throw of 64.35. This was also his third medal at the Paralympic Games.

  • India’s vaccination coverage achieved another milestone to cross the 64 Crore landmark yesterday. With the administration of 59,62,286 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has surpassed the cumulative figure of 64.05 Cr (64,05,28,644) as per provisional reports till 7 am today. 
  • Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 97.53%. 30,941 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.
