India–Africa Defence Dialogue to be held at Gandhinagar, Gujarat in March 2022 

India – Africa Defence Dialogue on the sidelines of the DefExpo that is scheduled to be held at Gandhinagar, Gujarat in March 2022. The broad theme of this India Africa Defence Dialogue will be ‘India – Africa: Adopting Strategy for Synergizing and Strengthening Defence and Security Cooperation’.

The first-ever India Africa Defence Ministers Conclave (IADMC) was held in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh in conjunction with DefExpo on February 06, 2020, co-organised by the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of External Affairs. This was the first in the series of Pan Africa events at the Ministerial level in the run-up to India Africa Forum Summit IV. A Joint Declaration, ‘Lucknow Declaration’ was adopted after the conclusion of IADMC 2020 as an outcome document of the Conclave.

India, US launch Climate Action and Finance Mobilization Dialogue (CAFMD) 

India and the United States of America (USA) today launched the “Climate Action and Finance Mobilization Dialogue (CAFMD)”.

The CAFMD is one of the two tracks of the India-U.S. Climate and Clean Energy Agenda 2030 partnership launched at the Leaders' Summit on Climate in April 2021, by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Joseph Biden.

The dialogue was formally launched by Union Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Bhupender Yadav and John Kerry, U.S. Special Presidential Envoy for Climate (SPEC), at an event held in New Delhi.


Rajya Sabha MP Oscar Fernandes passes away at 80 

Oscar Fernandes, a Rajya Sabha MP and a senior Congress leader, passed away at a private hospital in Mangaluru. He was 80. Oscar Fernandes was ailing for a long time and was admitted to a hospital in Mangalure for the past few weeks.

Oscar Fernandes, who was a Union Minister in both the terms of the UPA government. He was still a Rajya Sabha MP.


Sports Ministry announces free registration for 2 lakh school students for Fit India Quiz 

The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has announced that the first 2 lakh students nominated by 1 lakh schools can now be registered free for the nationwide India Quiz .Every school can nominate maximum 2 students for free for the quiz on first cum first basis.

The Fit India Quiz, the first-ever fitness and sports quiz in India for school children has been made even more attractive for participants. The nation-wide quiz has a whopping Rs 3.25 crore as prize money with the National round telecast on Star Sports.


PM Modi to visit US to attend Quad Leaders’ Summit in Washington DC on 24th of September 2021 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate in the Leaders’ Summit of the Quadrilateral Framework in Washington DC on 24th of September along with Prime Minister of Australia Scott Morrison, Prime Minister of Japan Yoshihide Suga and US President Joseph R. Biden.


India’s COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage exceeds 75 Cr; Recovery Rate currently at 97.58%

With the administration of 78,66,950 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, the country's COVID-19 vaccination coverage surpassed the cumulative figure of 75.22 Cr (75,22,38,324) as per provisional reports till 7 am today.

Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 97.58%. 25,404 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.

The Weekly Positivity Rate at 2.07% remains less than 3% for the last 81 days now. The Daily Positivity rate reported to be 1.78%. The daily Positivity rate has remained below 3% for the last 15 days and below 5% for 98 consecutive days now.
