MULTI-LATERAL Exercise ZAPAD 2021 to be held in Nizhniy, Russia from 03 to 16 September 2021  

The Exercise ZAPAD 2021, a Multi-Lateral exercise will be held in Nizhniy, Russia from 03 to 16 September 2021. A 200 personnel contingent of the Indian Army will participate in Exercise ZAPAD 2021, a Multi Nation exercise being held at Nizhniy, Russia from 03 to 16 September 2021.

ZAPAD 2021 is one of the theatre level exercises of the Russian Armed Forces and will focus primarily on operations against terrorists. Over a dozen countries from Eurasian and South Asian Region will participate in this signature event.

Aims

The NAGA Battalion group participating in the exercise will feature an all Arms combined task force. The exercise aims to enhance military and strategic ties amongst the participating nations while they plan & execute this exercise.


GST Revenue collection at Rs 1.12 lakh crore in August 2021 for second month a row 

The gross GST revenue collected in the month of August 2021 is ₹ 1,12,020 crore of which CGST is ₹ 20,522 crore, SGST is ₹ 26,605 crore, IGST is ₹ 56,247 crore (including ₹ 26,884 crore collected on import of goods) and Cess is ₹ 8,646 crore (including ₹ 646 crore collected on import of goods).

The revenues for the month of August 2021 are 30% higher than the GST revenues in the same month last year. During the month, the revenues from domestic transaction (including import of services) are 27% higher than the revenues from these sources during the same month last year. Even as compared to the August revenues in 2019-20 of ₹ 98,202 crore, this is a growth of 14%.


Indian economy grows by 20.1% in first quarter of current financial year 2021-22 

According to the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation data released, the gross domestic product, GDP, of India surged 20.1 percent in the April-June quarter of the current fiscal 2021-22. its best-ever fiscal-quarter numbers.

India records 355 crore digital transactions through UPI in August 2021 

India has recorded 355 crore digital transactions through Unified Payments Interface, UPI in August this year. As per data released by National Payments Corporation of India, a total of over six lakh 39 thousand crore rupees digital transactions have been registered.


India achieves Highest ever Single-Day Vaccination Coverage with the administration of over 1.33 Cr doses; Recovery Rate currently at 97.51%  

In a landmark achievement, India administered more than 1 Crore COVID-19 vaccine doses yesterday. This feat has been achieved twice in the last 5 days. With the administration of 1,33,18,718 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has surpassed the cumulative figure of 65.41 Cr (65,41,13,508) as per provisional reports till 7 am today. This has been achieved through 69,06,357 sessions.
Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 97.51%. 41,965 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.


India virtually hosts 8th meeting of agriculture experts of BIMSTEC countries 

India hosted the 8th Meeting of Agriculture Experts of Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) Countries virtually.
