Poshan Abhiyaan Awareness programmes to be held in Mumbai  

A series of “Poshan Jagrukta Abhiyaan” (Nutrition Awareness Campaign) programmes under “Poshan Maah” is being organised at various places of Mumbai, among different sections of society, on Monday, September 6, 2021.

The nutrition awareness programmes are being held at Anjuman-I-Islam Girls School, S V Road, Bazaar Road, Bandra West; Mahatma Gandhi Sewa Mandir Hall, S V Road, Bandra West; Our Lady of Good Counsel High School, Near Sion Railway Station; and Parzor Foundation’s The Dadar Athornan Institute, Firdausi Road, Mancherji Joshi Parsi Colony, Dadar, Mumbai; on September 6, 2021.

Women belonging to Christian, Buddhist, Muslim, Parsi, Jain and Sikh communities and from poor and backward areas will attend the Poshan Abhiyaan programmes in Mumbai, along with their family members. They will be informed about the benefits of nutrition. Nutrition Kits will also be distributed on the occasion.


Bangladesh Army Chief official visit to India for 3-days 

The Chief of Army Staff of Bangladesh General S M Shafiuddin Ahmed left Dhaka for a three day official visit to India on Saturday by a special Bangladesh Airforce aircraft. The Bangladesh Army Chief will discuss issues of bilateral importance to strengthen the cooperation between the armed forces of the two countries.

Minister Jitendra Singh inaugurates Doppler Weather Radar & Indigenous GPS based Pilot Sonde at IMD, Jammu 

Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Science & Technology Dr Jitendra Singh today inaugurated the latest upgraded state-of-the-art Doppler Weather Radar (DWR) & Indigenous GPS based Pilot Sonde at Indian Meteorological Office in Jammu.

Besides providing real-time monitoring, the X-Band Doppler Weather Radar stationed at Jammu will provide improved weather services to the people of J&K and an input to numerical weather prediction models for generating better weather forecasts.


Tokyo Paralympics 2020: Pramod Bhagat wins Gold medal; Manoj Sarkar bags Bronze in Badminton at Paralympics Games 

India’s Pramod Bhagat won the Men’s Singles SL3 event badminton gold medal at the Tokyo Paralympic Games 2020. Manoj Sarkar beat Daisuke Fujihara of Japan and clinched the Bronze medal in the same category.

The 33-year-old Pramod Bhagat defeated Great Britain’s Daniel Bethell 21-14, 21-17 in 45 minutes to claim the gold medal at the Tokyo Paralympics.

Pramod Bhagat has created history by winning a gold medal, giving India the first ever badminton gold in Paralympics.

Gautam Buddh Nagar (Noida) District Magistrate and shuttler Suhas Yathiraj won the Gold medal in men's singles SL4 para-badminton at Tokyo Paralympics.

The 23-year-old top seed French rival Lucas Mazur defeated 38-year-old IAS officer Suhas Yathiraj to win the Gold medal at the Tokyo Paralympic.


Tokyo Paralympics 2020: Krishna Nagar wins Gold medal in Badminton at Paralympics Games 

Indian shuttler Krishna Nagar won the Gold medal in men's singles SH6 para-badminton at Tokyo Paralympics 2020. Krishna Nagar beat Hong Kong’s Chu Man Kai 21-17, 16-21, 21-17 to win the gold medal at the Tokyo Paralympic Games.
