1. India scores 46th rank in the Global Innovation Index 2021

India has climbed 2 spots and has been ranked 46th by the World Intellectual Property Organization in the Global Innovation Index 2021 rankings.
India has been on a rising trajectory, over the past several years in the Global Innovation Index (GII), from a rank of 81 in 2015 to 46 in 2021.

Indian Naval Ships Shivalik and Kadmatt arrived at Jakarta, Indonesia on 18 Sep 21 to participate in the 3rd edition of Bilateral Exercise ‘Samudra Shakti’ with the Indonesian Navy.

The 6th Edition of SCO Exercise Peaceful Mission : 2021 hosted by Russia started in the Orenburg Region of South West Russia.
The aim of the exercise is to foster close relations between SCO Member States and to enhance abilities of the military leaders to command multinational military contingents.

4. 15th edition of INDO-NEPAL Joint Military Training Exercise SURYA KIRAN Begins at Pithoragarh (UK)

The 15th India-Nepal combined battalion level military training exercise ‘SURYA KIRAN’ commenced at Pithoragarh (UK) today and will continue till 03 October 2021.
During the exercise, an Infantry Battalion each from the Indian Army and the Nepali Army will be training together to develop inter-operability and share their experience of counter terrorism operations and disaster relief operations.

Department of Food and Public Distribution (DFPD) under Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution signed a model MoU with CSC e-Governance Services India Limited (CSC) to increase the business opportunities and income of Fair Price Shops by way of delivery of CSC services through interested Fair Price Shop (FPS) dealers.

6. CCI approves proposed acquisition of 10.4% of equity shareholding of Gangavaram Port Limited (GPL) by Adani Ports

The Competition Commission of India (CCI) approves the proposed acquisition of 10.4% of equity shareholding of Gangavaram Port Limited (GPL) by Adani Ports and Special Economic Zones Limited (APSEZ).
The proposed combination envisages acquisition of 10.4% of the shareholding in GPL (i.e., the entity operating Gangavaram port) by APSEZ from the Government of Andhra Pradesh.

7. India’s COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage exceeds 80.85 Cr; Recovery Rate currently at 97.72%

With the administration of 37,78,296 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage surpassed the landmark figure of 80 Cr (80,85,68,144) as per provisional reports till 7 am today.
Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 97.72%. 30,256 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.
