1. India, US sign two MoUs for cooperation in Health and Biomedical Sciences
  • India and the US signed two MoUs for cooperation in Health and Biomedical Sciences in 4th Indo-US Health Dialogue being hosted by India. 
  • One MoU was signed concerning cooperation in the field of Health and Biomedical sciences. The other MoU was signed for cooperation with the International Centre for Excellence in Research (ICER).


2. RBI imposes 2 crore penalty on RBL Bank Limited
  • The Reserve Bank of India on Monday imposed a penalty of Rs 2 crore on RBL Bank for breaching deposit, board composition norms.
  • The monetary penalty has been imposed for contravention of section 28 (h) of the Reserve Bank of India (Interest Rate on Deposits) Directions, 2016, and for non-compliance with the provisions of clause (b) of sub-section (2) of section 10A of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949 (the Act).


3. 4th Indo-US Health Dialogue 2021 concludes
  • Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya addressed the closing session of 4th Indo-US Health Dialogue being hosted by India.
  • The two-day Dialogue leveraged as a platform to deliberate upon multiple ongoing collaborations in the health sector between the two countries. The issues related to areas of concern pertaining to strengthening of epidemiological research and surveillance, vaccine development, One Health, zoonotic and vector-borne diseases, health systems and health policies etc. were discussed during the two day dialogue.

  • Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Science & Technology Dr Jitendra Singh today launched the “Amrit Grand Challenge Program” titled “जनCARE” to identify 75 Start-Up Innovations in Telemedicine, Digital Health, mHealth with BIG Data, AI, Block Chain and other technologies.

10. RBI imposes 10 lakh penalty on Amrit Malwa Capital Ltd. Jalandhar, Punjab
  • The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has imposed a monetary penalty of ₹10 lakh (Rupees Ten Lakh only) on Amrit Malwa Capital Limited, Jalandhar, Punjab (the company), for non-compliance with certain provisions of the ‘Non-Banking Financial Company Returns (Reserve Bank) Directions, 2016’.

  • The market regulator SEBI also approved amendments to the delisting framework for equity shares at the board meeting held in Mumbai yesterday.


12. IPL 2021 in Dubai: Mumbai Indians beat Punjab Kings by six wickets
  • Mumbai Indians beat Punjab Kings by six wickets at Zayed Cricket Stadium, Abu Dhabi, last night.
  • Coming to bat first, Punjab scored 135 runs in the stipulated 20 overs with the help of 42 runs from 29 balls by Aiden Markram for the loss of six wickets. In reply, Mumbai Indians chased down the target in 19 overs after losing four wickets.


13. India’s COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage exceeds 87.66 Cr; Recovery Rate currently at 97.83%
  • With the administration of 54,13,332 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage exceeded 87.66 Cr (87,66,63,490) as per provisional reports till 7 am today.
  • Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 97.83%. Recovery Rate is currently at its highest peak since March 2020.
  • India reports less than 20,000 daily new cases for the second successive day. 18,870 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.
