1. 13th BRICS Summit 2021 to be held in virtual format on the theme BRICS@15: Intra-BRICS cooperation for continuity, consolidation and consensus
  • As part of India’s ongoing Chairship of BRICS in 2021, the 13th BRICS Summit 2021 will be held in virtual format on the theme BRICS@15: Intra-BRICS cooperation for continuity, consolidation and consensus. It will be the third time that India will be hosting the BRICS Summit after 2012 and 2016.
  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi will chair the 13th BRICS Summit on 9 September 2021 in virtual format.


2. India Post Payments Bank, LIC Housing Finance sign Strategic Partnership for Offering Home Loan Products
  • India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) under Department of Posts, Ministry of Communications and LIC Housing Finance Ltd (LICHFL), the country’s premier housing finance player, signed a strategic partnership for providing home loan products to over 4.5 crore customers of IPPB.


3. 1st India-Japan High Level Policy Dialogue on Environment held in virtual format
  • The First India–Japan High Level Policy Dialogue was held virtually on 7th September 2021 between Mr.Bhupender Yadav, Union Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change of India and Mr. KOIZUMI Shinjiro, Minister of the Environment of Japan, and discussed issues on Air Pollution, Sustainable Technologies and Transports, Climate Change, Marine Litter, Fluorocarbons, COP 26, etc.


4. NITI Aayog and Gujarat University Sign SoI to Promote Cooperation in Agriculture
  • A Statement of Intent (SoI) was signed between NITI Aayog and Gujarat University. The SoI focuses on technical collaboration between the two institutions to strengthen knowledge-sharing and policy development in India. 
  • The objective is to encourage and promote cooperation in the field of agriculture and allied sectors.


5. All India institute of Ayurveda sign MoU with Western Sydney University, Australia to appoint an Academic Chair in Ayurveda
  • All India Institute of Ayurveda under Ministry of Ayush, signed a MoU in coordination with NICM Western Sydney University Australia, in virtual mode, to appoint an Academic Chair in Ayurveda.
  • The new Academic Chair will undertake academic and collaborative research activities in Ayurveda, including herbal medicine and yoga, as well as design academic standards and short-term/medium-term courses and educational guidelines.


6. Union Minister of Culture G.K Reddy launches program 'BujurgonkiBaat–DeshKeSaath'
  • Union Minister of Culture G.K Reddy launched program 'BujurgonkiBaat–DeshKeSaath'.
  • The programme 'BujurgonkiBaat–DeshKeSaath’ aims at enhancing the interaction between the youth and the elder persons who are 95 years and above and thus have spent around 18 years in India before independence.
