PM Narendra Modi to attend 28th NHRC Foundation Day programme      

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will attend 28th National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) Foundation Day programme on 12th October, 2021 at 11 AM via video conferencing. He will also deliver an address on the occasion.

About National Human Rights Commission (NHRC)

NHRC was set up under the Protection of Human Rights Act 1993 on 12th October, 1993 for the promotion and protection of human rights. The Commission takes cognizance of any form of human rights violations, conducts enquiries and in cases of violation of human rights, recommends to the public authorities for payment of compensation to the victims, other remedial and legal measures against the erring public servants.


APEDA signs MoU with ICAR-Central Citrus Research Institute, Nagpur for boosting exports of citrus and its valued-added products  

The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ICAR-Central Citrus Research Institute (ICAR-CCRI), Nagpur for boosting exports of citrus and its valued-added products.

The MoU envisages promoting export by focusing on creation of product specific clusters along with development of technologies by APEDA and ICAR-CCRI with a focus on efficient and precision farming.

The collaboration with two institutes of repute would focus on diversifying the export basket, destinations and boosting high value agricultural products exports through establishing Brand India globally. Market development and traceability in citrus which includes strengthening forward and backward linkages, branding and marketing, establishment of market intelligence cell, the MoU states.


13th round of India-China Corps Commander Level Meeting 

The 13th round of India-China Corps Commander Level Meeting was held at Chushul-Moldo border meeting point on 10th October 2021.

During the meeting the discussions between the two sides focussed on resolution of the remaining issues along the LAC in Eastern Ladakh. The two sides have agreed to maintain communications and also to maintain stability on the ground.


India’s COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage crosses the landmark of 95 Cr; Recovery Rate currently at 98.00%

With the administration of 46,57,679 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage crossed the landmark of 95 Cr (95,19,84,373) as per provisional reports till 7 am today.

Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.00%. Recovery Rate is currently at its highest peak since March 2020. 18,132 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours. This is the lowest recorded daily new cases in 215 days.

The Weekly Positivity Rate at 1.53% remains less than 3% for the last 108 days now. The Daily Positivity rate reported to be 1.75%. The daily Positivity rate has remained below 3% for the last 42 days and below 5% for 125 consecutive days now.
