PM Modi to visit UP on October 25 and launch Pradhan Mantri Atmanirbhar Swasth Bharat Yojana (PMASBY)  

Uttar Pradesh Elections 2022: Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will visit Uttar Pradesh on 25th October, 2021. At around 10.30 AM in Siddharthnagar, Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate nine medical colleges in Uttar Pradesh. Subsequently, at around 1.15 PM in Varanasi, the Prime Minister Modi will launch Pradhan Mantri Atmanirbhar Swasth Bharat Yojana. He will also inaugurate various development projects worth more than Rs 5200 crore for Varanasi.

Prime Minister Atmanirbhar Swasth Bharat Yojana (PMASBY) will be one of the largest pan-India schemes for strengthening healthcare infrastructure across the country. It will be in addition to the National Health Mission. 

Objective 

The objective of PMASBY is to fill critical gaps in public health infrastructure, especially in critical care facilities and primary care in both the urban and rural areas. It will provide support for 17,788 rural Health and Wellness Centres in 10 High Focus States. Further, 11,024 urban Health and Wellness Centres will be established in all the States.

2nd Army Commanders’ Conference 2021 to be held in New Delhi  

The 2nd Army Commanders’ Conference of 2021 is scheduled from 25 to 28 October 2021 at New Delhi. Army Commanders’ Conference is an apex level biannual event which is held in April and October every year. 

The conference is an institutional platform for conceptual level deliberations, culminating in making important policy decisions for the Indian Army. 

The conference is also a formal forum for the senior leadership of the Indian Army to interact with the senior officials of the Department of Military Affairs and Department of Defence.

Key Highlights

The apex leadership of Indian Army will brainstorm on current / emerging security and administrative aspects to chart the future course for the Indian Army, in the backdrop of the situation along the borders and challenges imposed by COVID-19 pandemic.

During the conference, the Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh will address and interact with the Army Commanders. The Chief of Defence Staff and the Chiefs of the Indian Navy and the Indian Air Force are also scheduled to address the senior leadership of Indian Army on avenues for promoting tri-service synergy.


HM Amit Shah inaugurated and laid foundation stone of various development projects in Jammu  

The Union Minister of Home Affairs Amit Shah inaugurated the new campus of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in Jammu on the second day of his visit to Jammu and Kashmir today.

The new campus of IIT Jammu, built at a cost of Rs. 210 crore, provides all facilities like good hostels, a gymnasium and indoor games along with higher education to students.

Home Minister Amit Shah also inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of various development projects for Jammu and Kashmir.


IBBI organises Training of Trainers (ToT) programme for Insolvency Professionals  

The Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI), in association with the Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office, UK (FCDO), organised a two day ''Train the Trainer'' event on “Usage of Alternate Dispute Resolution Techniques to aid the Insolvency Resolution Process”. The event was conducted on 22nd and 23rd October, 2021, in online mode.

The “Train the Trainer” programme focused on capacity building and development of the insolvency framework in India to the next level. As part of the initiative, participants were provided with in-depth practical training and extensively covered the areas related to changing the way to look at disputes, efficacy of mediation techniques and merits of soft evaluation etc. 

The initiative is expected to upgrade the skill sets of the participants to enable them to, in turn, act as trainers for Insolvency Professionals and other stakeholders, for further strengthening of the insolvency ecosystem in India.


India’s first IVF calf of Banni Buffalo breed takes birth  

India’s first in vitro fertilization calf of the Banni Buffalo breed has taken birth. With this India’s Ovum Pick-Up - in vitro fertilization work has reached the next level.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had talked about the Banni buffalo breed during his visit to Kutch region of Gujarat last year. The very next day, Ovum Pick-Up and aspiration processes for the in vitro fertilization of Banni Buffaloes was planned.


India’s COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage exceeds 102.10 Cr; Recovery Rate currently at 98.17%

With the administration of 77,40,676 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has surpassed 100 Cr mark to reach 102.10 Cr (1,02,10,43,258) as per provisional reports till 7 am today.

The recovery of 16,479 patients in the last 24 hours has increased the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) to 3,35,48,605.

Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.17%. Recovery Rate is currently at its highest peak since March 2020. 15,906 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.

The Active Caseload remains below 2 lakh mark and is presently at 1,72,594 which is lowest in 235 days. Active cases presently constitute 0.51% of the country's total Positive Cases, which is lowest since March 2020.

The Weekly Positivity Rate at 1.23% remains less than 2% for the last 30 days now. The Daily Positivity rate reported to be 1.19%. The daily Positivity rate has remained below 2% for the last 20 days and below 3% for 55 consecutive days now.
